Also 12483,H,22500 (If you want TV1 and 2). Do you know what sort of LNB you have? It's most likley a problem with the LNB LOF settings.

I'm running a Sky Digital dish and LNB which I believe is the older one, I could be wrong though. Currently I have them set to the standard settings which is the same as the Alter TV software (this software works) which is:

LNB0: 9750
Switch: 117000
LNB1: 10600

But I have tried a few different settings here and had no luck. What are the settings supposed to be for the old Sky dish and new Sky dish?

LNB0: 113000?

As you can probably tell I'm new to all of this and I've spent ALOT of time on this forum trying to find answers to this and have had no luck so any help would be much appreciated :)

Ok, well if the 9750 10600 ec work with the other app then they must be right. I've seen some off things in mp whne it comes to scanning. can you delete you mediaportal log file do and scan then attach it?

O.k. will do. I'm having trouble rdp'ing into my box at home at the moment so I might have to do that later.

I get the feeling the LNB settings on the AVerTV software are irrelevant (or showing up incorrectly) as most people are saying the Sky Dish LNB should be as follows:

Old Sky setup: LNB0= 11300
New Sky setup LNB0= 10750

Can anyone confirm that thsi is what they are running on their sky dish?

Does MP have an option somewhere for setting the LNB power or is it auto?

yeah I think thats right I have old sky LNBs, Sharp Brand ones. And yes they are 11300. Does your lnb look like like it's Dual? like 2 lNBs in 1? If so it's a new one.
Otherwise does it look like the one in the PIC atached?

O.k. looks like I have the older Sky dish and LNB like in the pic so it should be at 11300. Thanks Rhys.Goodwin

Now after doing a scan it picked up channels TV3 and C4 and a bunch of reserved channels, Hooray! So I decided to add Tv1 and TV2 frequency to the TPI file and scanned again. This time, nothing

So I changed it back to just the TV3 and C4 frequency and still nothing.

If I try to watch these channels now it shows nothing.

I dont get signal strength at all except for the one time it came up with channels.

So I've attached my configuration log file to see if there's anything you can suggest is wrong.

Right I've got it working now, Finally! using the following settings:

LNB0: 10750
switch: 2
LNB1: 11300

I dont know why, but I'm guessing the switch is forcing it to LNB1 and getting 11300MHZ it wouldnt work the other way around though, with a higher switch and correct LNB0, but at least its working now :D

Nice one! Yeah I think you're right because when I used to use MP (I use TVServer now) I would just set.
LNB0: 0
switch: 0
LNB1: 11300

    Hi all
I see there is possibilities of MHEG5 support in MediaPOrtal (seems its already available in Myth). Form what I understand this just allows slightly more interaction than what we get via XML inputed to EPG?

Yeah I think its basicly fancy looking teletext! Hopefully they keep providing the normal dvb EPG otherwise MP will have to support EPG via MHEG OR we'll have to use xmltvnz (good but not as reliable as DVB)

    Rhys

What source are you using for your EPG?

    Skystar2 Setup Help

I have installed the Skystar2 Card, and have managed to find the correct LNB frequency (11300) and do a channel scan using the supplied software with the card. It finds the channels and I get a picture. So far so good.

I have an old Sky dish with One LNB.

Now I want to configure Mediaportal. I have just done a clean install of the stable release of Mediaportal (0.2.2.0). In the setup for the capture card on the Autotune tab, I enter The following details

    LNB0: 0
    Switch: 0
    LNB1: 11300
    DiSEqC: None
    LNB: Ku-Band
    Tone: 22KHz
Satelite: SkyTV on Optus B1 (160E)

Running a Scan with these settings produces no results.

I tried editing the .tpl file as suggested in this forum, but that made no difference

I am assuming I don't need to configure TV3 Engine to use Freeview with Mediaportal, but it seems all the setup help I could find in the forum was for the TV3 engine.

    What am I missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use normal DVB for the DVB channels obviously. And I use xmltvnz for my other channels.
