Hmmm. Actually I see now that the thrid box the switch box is in Mhz no hz or Khz.
I'm wondering if the switch frequency is that if the requested channel frequency is above the switch frequency then use the second LOF setting otherwise use the firs?? Maybe?

I'd really like to get this clarified then mcraenz can update his site with the correct info.

Well, i'm still lost be the whole thing LoL !!

I have installed everything to the book but still not having any luck. I have the TV Server up and running. Scanned and found all channels
EPG has loaded but when trying to view a channel, I get nothing.

Have I missed something.

At least i can watch T.V.

Just one question if i record one channel and try to go to another channel from a different transponder it says "can't timeshift no other cards free" and will not change to that channel. I thought i would be able to watch and record different channels at same time???

LNB settings for Hauppage NOVA S-PLUS (on an oldish 65cm dish, black LNB with white cap) as follows for the benefit of others.

Use the satelite and freeview files donated from Rhys.goodwin on the previous page. follow his instructions.

Then


tick the overide button on the first tab of your tuner card.

enter the above figures in
LOF1 11300
LOF2 22000
switch 0

go to scan tab and scan cross your fingures and press scan.
worked for me. If your dish is different you may need different settings.

Lnb Low Frequency (lof1) 11300 Mhz - might be 10750 in your case
Lnb High Frequency (lof2) 22000 Mhz
Lnb Switch Frequency (LNBSW) 0

Good to see that you guys are getting it going but i cannot understand why the LOF2 frequency should be 22000MHZ, i suspect that if you put zero in there your results will be exactly the same.

Yeah you can watch and record tv1 and 2 - same transponder or tv3 and c4 - same transponder, to be able to do all four or a combination of transponders you need more tuners, this is what i am in the process of doing, c1com.co.nz has the hauppage nova's for under150 + postage at the mo

So even if i turn of the timeshifting function I'll still need two cards?

after five days, seven image reinstalls, god knows how many downloads this is the only one thats worked for ME other have had different results with different settings but the hauppage NOVA S-PLUS and my dish would NOT work using those settings.

Hi Yesdup, interesting about the NOVA-S-Plus deficiencies and your trials to get it going. I din't mean to suggest you should change anything and as somebody once said if it aint broke dont fix it!

I have both installed, Server and Plugin.
In the TV Channels tab I see all channels. When I use the "preview" option I see nothing

I have had it all working fine using just MP tv. "sigh"

When you are back in mediaportal and go to my tv what happens?

It might be a database issue, are you using a single seat setup ie server and mediaportal on the same PC with no network clients or a multi seat setup?

You can use only one card like i am currently, it just means that you can only use one transponder at a time so your options are

to watch any one channel
or watch and record any channels on the same transponder

With two cards you should be able to watch and record all freeview channels at the same time on as many computers as you have the media portal client installed on.

At least thats what I have worked out from what I have read previously but we try these things then we wait then we learn, and occasionally we are wrong.....
