Thanks mcraenz.

I have the blaster plugin setup, and via the plugin setup thing, it changes channels on the Sky decoder fine (using the test function).

So, If I manually add the channels with the right channel numbers, it will automatically blast them?? If so, then that's very cool. Will this also work if the channel is chosen via EPG?

I feel I'm getting close to going live!

This brings me to my next question ("stop with the questions already!" I hear you say!!)

How do I organise the Program Guide? - I have changed the order under channels in TVServer, but doesn't seem to make much difference - I would like it to be as close as possible to SKY's EPG (Wife may not even notice when I change over :))

And, once that is done, can I also select a channel by typing in it's channel number on my remote - and is this the same channel number as in the Channel setup? (this is important for WAF - that's how she does it now with Sky - she only watches about 5 channels).

DrLurch:

I installed IR Server Suite by and-81. Seems to be the business. I have a USB MCE remote with blaster (Made by Hauppauge, but certified by Microsoft for use with Vista Media Center). In the plugin section of TVServer, under TV3 Blaster plugin, Under STB settings he has the SkyNZ Pace6000 series (which I have) and the test function changed channels on my Sky box just fine with it's default settings.

I'm happy to help with any of the steps I've gone through, or any stumbling blocks I have overcome. I'm also posting here

Out of interest did anyone find any good links for satellite pics that can be used in My Weather?

I've found a couple but nothing like the images European users have on offer (yes I know we have way less satellites flying overhead us when compared to Europe)

By the way mcraenz, I followed your excellent instructions with getting TV Server to pick up Freeview on a DVB-S card and found that when I copied the satellite xml and .ini files into the folder I found that the side menu options disappeared from TV Server Configuration.

They came back after doing an uninstall/reinstall of TV Server.

In the end I got all the Freeview channels by following your advice on ticking the box for "override default LNB frequencies" etc and not copying the satellite files to the folder. (must be a bug with the build I have 20/12/07)

And one more question...

Anyone else been able to pick up that free to air Aussie channel that I heard about on the news?

Hi all,

Q. re dvb-t HD content. I have tried playback of a NZ sample and a BBC sample using Cyberlink Ultra. I get playback but it splits into 4 screens??? anyone had any luck getting H.264 going in MP?

I have a ATI HD2400 card if that helps.

Cheers.

    Hi Mcrae

Do you think its worth loading this table into the wiki for NZ DVB-T channels? The list covers pretty much all the channels that (I think) are going to be used and can be just copied into the DVBT.XML file over the top of the existing NZ Auckland trial entries.

    Cheers Mike

hi, can dvb-t go thu a standard uhf splitter? as that is what i have @ the moment for my analogue tv, and are there any auckland trials running?

    edit;
yes it does just did a scan, and found 14 new channels! im in aucks, found all tvnz channels including tvnz7 and all canwest!

    Hey all,

As per Handya, I have been able to pick up 14 DVBT channels in the Auckland Area (Mt Eden). However they only display a black preview (see attached images). Does anyone know whether they have begun broadcasting material yet?

Note: I copied the table of frequencies into my DVBT.xml, but if you look at my scan results, only three of the frequencies are necessary (if you want to speed up scanning) - 538, 570 and 666 MHz

    I am using MP 0.2.3.0 and tvengine3-11-13-2007--01-40h--Rev16519 (I know I haven't updated in awhile...)

    Micky P

PS: my UHF goes through a 3 way splitter I installed from Dick Smith just recently. I have no details regarding my aerial (was here when we moved in, about 6 months ago)

PPS: I am using the HVR4000 - will it be an issue in the same way analog signals are handled by software, or is the DVBT signal hardware processed?

    Handya,

What capture card are you using, and what version of MP and TVE3 are you using?

    Michael

UPDATE: Some channels I receive both picture and sound, some only picture at this stage, and others (TV ONE and TV2) just a black screen.
