Hi there, you'll need to use the BDA driver (no longer Beta, suggest revisiting Technisat website and get latest drivers) for at least one of the cards . MP cant "see" two cards if both using the WDM driver (i have no idea why!). Once you've downloaded the latest drivers update one of the cards drivers and manually point it to the BDA folder within the latest driver download, if successful you will have one skystar 2 listed under Network Controllers in device manager and the other is under sound, video and game controllers.

MP TVserver should now see both cards and your problem should be solved

Cheers

Hmmm that didnt seem to work.
Device Manager now shows one card as having Driver version 4.4.1.0 (latest according to Tech and the other the previously installed 4.3.3.0., but both still show in Network Devices. Maybe its a case of uninstalling the cards?

PS. Is it possible Im still using the WDM Driver, even tho' the latest version ?

PPS. Found a BDA folder for a driver within the 4.4.1.0 drivers. Have installed that but its giving a Blue Screen of Death for Win2K Adv Server

Change the driver for one of the cards to the BDA version and get a BSOD at startup with:
    STOP C0000263
    Driver Entry Point Not Found
    \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\SkyNetBDA.sys
driver could not locate the entry point KeFlushQueueDpcs in driver ntoskrnl.exe

Hi again, if showing under network cards then you have not installed the BDA driver, as for Win 2K adv server, i have never used that OS. Have you installed all the latest windows updates? When does the BSOD occur?

    Cheers
    m

Have Emailed TechniSat to see if they know why.

It occurs at startup, although once I did see it after updating the drivers while Win2K still running.

Win2k Adv isn't going to offer you any advantages (as far TVServer is concerned) Unless you are also using it as a domain controller, DNS, or DHCP server I would wipe it go with XP Pro

Yea figured the same. Other Win2K Server looks after all that so have will go WinXP for the server and see how it goes.:D

Do you mean it isn't scanning the satellite channels properly? Or are you still trying for analog?

    Cheers,

    Michael

Edit: I guess you must mean satellite reading back over the past posts. My suggestion is to check that the satellite feed that you have to the card is definately carrying a signal, because in my experience (with the HVR4000) it never had any issues finding the channels once I had setup the freeview satellite.

Edit 2: I found my LNB settings from our Sky box - by going into setup > LNB settings. Mine are LOF1: 10750 and LOF2: 11800. I just put 0 for my switch frequency, but I don't know if that is right!

Thanks for that the satellite feed is definetly working fine as i can pick up freeview using winTv and mediaportal by itself just not tv server. Yes i mean it is not scanning the satellite channels correctly, i am currently concentrating on that as the analog seems to be a no go for mediaportal and this software based encoding system. Will check the sky box and have a look for correct lnb settings and try scanning again but i think i have already tried most possible combinations inculding the above 10750 11800 and 0.

if you have got all the settings right, and the dish is working with sky, you are using the right splitter, and your getting a good feed into your 4000 card,
then you might have to just re-install windows, i know it sucks but it might just do it :)
