I don't think Media Portal seems to recognise the current test DVB-T signals being broadcast for some reason. I have managed to get DVBViewer and Cyberlink Power Cinema to tune into all the test channels using a scan, but Media Portal doesn't see anything, even when I have put the correct frequencies in dvbt.xml.

I'm still having isssues getting both players to decode properly, DVBViewer show the top 3rd ok, but the rest of the display is not decompressed properly. Power Cinema shows the whole screen, but with a very slow frame rate. I'm trying to confirm if it's a CODEC issue, or signal strength. DVBViewer is showing 95-100% signal strength, and I'm getting data rates between 2.5Mbit and 10Mbit, so I think there signal is ok. Can anyone else confirm what datarate's they are getting? I've tried the instructions that have been posted for both programs on the forum at Freeview NZ Digital TV Shop Satellite Receivers DTT Terrestrial High Definition, but still not quite right.

Audio is fine under DVBViewer and it's showing as HE-AAC.

i get all of the dvb-t channels, and i can start a manual time-shift in mp and watch in vlc if i turn off the sound, there are some issue with the audio codec as far as im aware, i will be working on it this weekend and i will get back 2 you with my results or lack off
im using tve3 btw, not sure if it works with standalone mediaportal?

Im using 2 hauppauge 4000 cards they are great :) for anyone that is interested

if you dont have all the dvb-t transponders i think they are all here , just copy into your tuning perimeters folder in tve3,
new zealand dvb-t frequency setting .xml

    A couple of unrelated issues:

    1. My tv logos are not coming up properly in tv guide, i have tv2 tv3 and c4 coming up correctly but not the others, i have logos for most of the other channels in the same folder. They have the same names as the channels in mediaportal but the logos are refusing to show, i got them from mcraenz's webpage.

    2. Is there any way to make my Hauppauge 45 button remote turn on Mediaportal from the windows desktop, currently the power button turns on media centre which i don't use.

    Welcome to NZ GeoV

What type of service are you getting at present in Sth Africa?

Thanks....I will only be moving in June...there is a lot of paper-work to get sorted out :) We have a very similar setup as sky; we have what is called DSTV, which is a satellite pay-service.

Welcome Geov! What part of NZ do you plan to settle in?

We are moving to “Auckland”, which I think has become the city that has the most immigrants in New Zealand…

Bare in mind though that you can only use this in mediaportal via analog card and ir blaster there is no CAM for NDS :(

South Africa has the same problem, so I have all the correct equipment…that’s if I bring everything with…which we are still deciding. Friends of ours that are already in New Zealand have told us that we should consider bringing everything with because of the high cost of certain things over there..

Yeah Auckland really is the best city; the people are friendly and the weather is great :) I think it's gonna cost you less to bring it than it will to re-buy it.

In c:/windows there document called Irremote.ini

search the document for this text GRNPOWER={run beside that should be what ever the location for power cinema is.

by replacing the directory to that file with the directory to the media portal file you should be able to open media portal with the green button.

Unfortunately i've been unable to figure out what the value for spacebar is, so I personally re-installed my media portal directory to c:/mediaportal. There will be a way to figure out the space bar value, and if you can do that you're all set.

I've attached a copy of my irremote.ini, it'd pay not to copy it since your's may be different, but if you search it for:

    mediaportal

    or

    GRNPOWER={run

you should figure out exactly where to put the edit.

    Hope all that helps.

Hi, with teh SVN i'm using I cant change channels directly from one to another on the same transponder. ie 2 to 6 not possible but 2 to 3 to 6 is. Has anyone else had this problem?. Is it purely a matter of updating the SVN i'm using?
