Hi, I've got the latest build of TV server and Media Portal up and running well. It's a great bit of software. I'm just having some issues with "fine tuning" the EPG.

    1. I'm successfully receiving the NZ Freeview EPG off the air but the programme descriptions are duplicated for many programmes. As the info scrolls up it repeats itself and then the divider line goes past and the whole thing then loops. Is this a known issue or something specific to Freeview in NZ?

    2. As Prime is not on DVB and I'm importing the EPG using XMLTVNZ and then using the XMLTV function inside the TV server to read the file in. When I do this it imports fine (and so far without the duplications I'm seeing as described in point one above) but it wipes all of the off air EPG data. Is there any way of using the XMLTV for one channel and the off the air data for the others or are these functions mutually exclusive?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You using DVB-S? Yeah I get this sometimes I assumed it was just the way the data came down from the the network. I haven't investigated further.

Instead of using xmltvnz you can just scan in the sky transponder that caries Prime (12707), and then combine with the your prime analog channel and use an EPG only mapping. This way you get Prime EPG direct from the satellite :)

Yes, using DVB-S. Thanks for that. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I'd done wrong. :D

Thank you!! I've been wrestling with that for a week and you've solved it for me in 5 minutes! It works great. :D

Now at the risk of overstaying my welcome; another couple of questions:

    1. I've enable power scheduler in TV server and MP and set it to wake up the PC (from Hibernation) to grab the EPG at a set time each day. The time arrives and nothing happens. Is this a working function in the plug-in or have I done something wrong? (The PC wakes up to record scheduled programmes without issue)

    2. I'm running WinXP Pro and a HVR4000. I know that the HVR remote can't be used to wake the PC from Hibernation due to the limitations of this card. What solutions/remotes are there that will power on the PC from this (S4) state? (At the moment I've got it booting from a WOL signal from my laptop but this is pretty cumbersome)

Again, thanks in advance for any help.

Great! I've also added an NZ specific guide for "EPG only mappings" in the NZ wiki:
Country Specific Informations/NewZealand/SkyEPG - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation

Can't help with the power scheduler sorry, I've never used it.

MS MCE remote will And they also work perfectly with MP :)

Do you have any process for periodically updating the EPG or do you rely on the TV server settings doing it when the machine is awake?

I'd heard this worked for MCE but wasn't sure if it would work with XP Pro. The MCE remotes seem to only be advertised for MCE or Vista.

Yeah if the machine is awake and TV Server is idle then it will just check for updates every 2hours (by default)

I use it with XP Pro SP2 :)

HVR4000 but nothing found when scanning

    Hi everyone,

Ive been using an HVR4000 for the last couple of weeks and have been happily carrying on with Freeview. My intention was to ditch my telstra stb because I wasnt watching anything, but the English football is reaching the end of the season and I just cant bring myself to do it!

Anyway Ive been trying to get my telstra box working on the svideo (analouge) part of the card with no success. Ive looked through various threads and have tried the powercinema software, have used hcwclear and reintalled the drivers and the additional MCE and PVR soft drivers Ive tried scanning with both MP and wintv but nothing.

Am I missing something obvious ?

Or can someone suggest anything for me to try ?

    Cheers
    Martyn
