Well, i now have analogue and DVB-T running smoothly, but it took several reinstalls of MP, TVServer and the SQL Database. Who knows what i did, but it's all going now, with what i can see being the exact same settings as before... shrug.

I Have found though that when configuring TVServer pressing 'OK' when i've finished configuring does nothing, and i have to press cancel. All settings are retained, just a bit of a pain. Could this be a database problem?

I am still having the problem of recorded tv not going into the recorded tv option under my tv.

Also under DVB-T i when watching live tv about every 10 seconds i get a slight stutter and occasional pixelation. Just trying to narrow down the cause.
    1) Codec (using the free one that came with Cyberlink Powercinema)( PCM45 )
    2) Signal level ( have used it under bad signal and it much worse constant break up and lots of freezing) ( also tried it with full signal and full quality still has the problem)
    3) video renderer (VMR9 currently) (tried EVR but tv3 is jittery under it and more problems)
    4) Hardware (3.2GHZ core 2 duo 7600GT 2GB RAM) (CPU very rarely goes over 20% when watching or recording under either video renderer)
    5) Media Portal (cant try any other programs as i haven't got any that work with DVB-T atm)

Re the 10 second stutter, I had a similar thing which was related to EPG. Ive disabled EPG and just use Revens xmltv

Yeah I think I know what the problem is. I think this will require a patch! Priority is not observed when grabbing EPG. What is happening here is that it is using the DVB-T card to grab that EPG, which is successful , problem is that it only contains Now&Next.

So we need an option to completely disable EPG grabbing on a specific card or maybe disable EPG grabbing for a specific tuning detail tuning detail. I'll have a think about it and see if I can't write and submit a patch. :)

I'd be really keen to see this implemented! Thanks mcraenz

I have another problem at the moment that my scheduled series recordings disappear - I think its either after a reboot or after the EPG updates - altough I did see a post where it was happening after the first show was recorded, it drops the rest. Anyone seen this?

    Can you elaberate a little?
SO you go to the guide and say record and say "Everytime on This channel" then after (something) you go back to the guide and you don't see the little red record icon over the program anymore, the schedule is gone?

not quite. I select everytime on this channel and it records the first time and then the rest of the scheduled times disappear - i.e. one news will record tonight and the the rest of the days will go after that. not sure when they go though, I'm going to see if I can work out what triggers it tonight.

Edit - just checked and drops the rest of the schedule for that show after the first one finishs recording. other shows are still there but I guess they will do the same.

no, just DVB-T and analogue. My guide works using xmltv and when I schedule a series (one news) all the episodes for the week show in the schedule - but like I say, after the first episode is recorded the rest of the scheduled shows disappear from the list - just the show concerned.

    Playback

Running MP server and svn 04-02-2008--15-08h--Rev18513 under Win XP
    Hauppage WinTV-HVR4000 and WinTV-PVR-350 cards.

Recording DVB-T channels no problem in .ts format via the HVR4000.
I can play them back in MediaPortal. At this stage I have only opted to use MediaPortal to do DVB-T channels, which are playing and recording quite well.

Nothing else seems to play these .ts files that I can find

With the Hauppage WinTV software I can play anything back with that through to my Lounge TV with Composite cables hooked up to the PVR350.

HOW do I play these .ts files back to my TV?

.ts is just the container really, the actually video is encoded in h.26, on your MediaPortal PC you must have an h.264 codec installed, powerdvd, coreAVC etc. I think the PVR350 can only be used to playback MPEG2 video, somone correct me if I'm wrong
