The 8500GT has a h264 chip on it but I'm not runnig the nvidia PureVideo HD codec as I herd the powerdvd one was better. Might be worth a try. Anyway I upgraded to the latest SVN and it seems better, although there only was bout 10mins of the HD prog left so havent had the chance to properly test. Hopefully all is well. Loving the quality of the HD shows. My partner was complaining cos everyone looks fake now its such better quality.

armourking: All I have installed is CoreAVC and xVid. CoreAVC is about $US14.95 and xVid is free. That's all I installed when I rebuilt my machine and together with the codecs that Media Portal installs - is about all you need. Well it was all I needed to get DVB-T, DVB-S and playback of AVI's.

Cheers Mike

Yeah I think I know what the problem is. I think this will require a patch! Priority is not observed when grabbing EPG. What is happening here is that it is using the DVB-T card to grab that EPG, which is successful , problem is that it only contains Now&Next.

So we need an option to completely disable EPG grabbing on a specific card or maybe disable EPG grabbing for a specific tuning detail tuning detail. I'll have a think about it and see if I can't write and submit a patch. :)

Hi mcraenz,

any luck with this? It would be a major plus if this could work.

Happy to test if needed.

Thanks
Damian:D

Oh right, I meant a DVB-T card, yeah
I've got FFDShow handling pretty much all my codecs on the E4500 in the lounge.

armourking: I use the HVR4000 for DVB-T and DVB-S with an additional Nova S Plus for DVB-S only. Knowing what I know now, I would go with two HVR4000's so that I had two DVB-T tuners in addition to two DVB-S tuners. The HVR4000 (whilst being a hybrid) does apparently have seperate DVB-T/Analog tuner plus a DVB-S Tuner making two tuners in all for the card. I say apparently because I have never tried to record a DVB-S and a DVB-T program from the same card.

That combination plus the codec's I mentioned should be all that is needed to get a stable platform. I have had more than my share of issues with MP over the last 12 months, but since rebuilding the platform and getting rid of a heap of codecs, it is now more stable than it has ever been - but the lack of dual DVB-T tuners will become a pain I know for sure. So two HVR4000's for me next time for sure...

mcraenz: Good luck getting the patch accepted into the SVN. That patch will make a HUGE difference to us Kiwi's and probably the Norwegians in handling EPG for the DVB-T service.

    Cheers Mike

EPG Update following Daylight Savings Change

To people who get their EPG data via DVB-S.... is anyone else's EPG one hour behind since the daylight savings change today?

I updated my setup today (new SNV, etc) and I'm not sure if the EPG offset is due to the upgrade or daylight savings  . I'm hoping it's just laziness on behalf of the networks (in updating their inf).

    Cheers

Yes my EPG from DVB-S is also out by one hour. The 6pm evening news is currently scheduled for a 5pm start!!!

We have had this before from TV1,2 and 3 for their DVB-S service and I guess its because they don't keep their eye's on the EPG server. Interestingly the SKY feed is good and their Prime feed is also Ok.

I recall we had the same problem late in March when NZ usually comes off Summer time. I guess the answer is to just refresh the EPG till it comes right - in the meantime if you have any recordings due tonight, plan to record the show following the one you want so that you are covered.

    Cheers Mike

After a winxp & sp2 reinstall plus about 80% of the MS Updates I get this error when starting up MediaPortal TV Server. I don't want all the MS Updates just the required ones. Currently have Rev18513 TV Server and SVN

    Microsoft SI/PSI Parser outdated
Your version 6.5.2600.2180 of Psisdecd.dll in path C:\WINDOWS\system32\PsisDecd.dll has too many bugs!

What exactly is required to get rid of that?

I tried renaming that file and reboot and I still get the error.
