    Thanks for the effort here!

Hopefully we'll get a good result.

I own the same card with the CI slot, and I would love to see the CI working in MediaPortal.

Actually for me, at the moment I can't find any channels in MediaPortal using this TV card, it kinda "times out" while searching. But this is another problem, it could also be a defective TV-card.

Hi FreakyJ and nordemoniac (and anyone else that was watching this thread)

I hope you're still keen to get the CI menu working for your tuners! :D
morpheus_xx seems to be quite busy these days with work on MediaPortal 2 (;)). I've been working on trying to add support for decrypting multiple channels at once for Twinhan cards over here. Twinhan and Terratec cards are very closely related as you may already know, and when morpheus_xx heard what I was doing he mentioned to me that I might like to see if I can add support for CI menus for Terratec cards too. So here I am, and I would like to help you if I can. :)

As morpheus_xx already mentioned, Terratec cards may use a different version of the same API that Twinhan cards use. I have obtained a copy of the Twinhan API and it is *very* clear that there are two versions of the API for CI support. We only seem to support one version at this point, so I guess Terratec cards use the other version that we don't yet support. My first goal if you're still keen will be to check which version of the API your tuners use so that I can see whether my guess is right or wrong. The information about which API version a tuner supports was not available in TV Server before now, but I successfully added new code to query the tuner for this information using my own OEM Twinhan card. I'd like to get you to try the new code, so can you please reply to this post by telling me which version of MediaPortal you're using.

Hope to hear from someone soon :)

    Hey!

I'm still using a software CAM, so I can't give you that much feedback, but I guess my softcam won't work for ever, and I'll have to buy a Conax CAM in the end.

But I'll be watching this forum, and when my software CAM solution doesn't work anymore, I'll be here wining!

First of all thanks to you guys for your help ;)
And yes, I'm still interested to get full support for my Tv Card =)

I'm using MP 1.2.0 Alpha and I'm keen to test your stuff :p

Excellent - lets get started then. Here is the first version to try. This version is going to give me more low level information about your tuner. It also includes the work for multiple decryption that I have done in the other thread. I'd be interested to know if you were able to decrypt multiple channels before, and whether this patch makes any difference...

[Edit: I forgot to say that when you test this you need to tune to at least one channel with your Terratec tuner (unless you have preloading turned on), otherwise the information I need doesn't get into the logs]

Thanks for the fast replay =)
I only provide the version information (the most important I think^^) for now because I'm not at home right now and connected over --TeamViewer-->My PC --RDP-->HTPC and that's not the best for testing Tv xDD But I will provide a multidecrypt test tomorrow or this evening ;)

(The Alphacrypt Classic should support Multidecrypt right? I think I already did it on the same transponder..., but I will do it again and attach logs ;) And I only can decrypt on the same transponder, because the Terratec only support watching two channels on the same transponder)

Found this in a different forum:
You'll probably find this stuff on forums. I use the AlphaCrypt Classic CAM on my FloppyDTV-C cards. It can decrypt up till 8 channels simultaneously, as long as they're on 1 transponder. Make sure your tvcard supports this too.

Now to the Versioninformation. I did the following to get the information:
    1. Stop TvService & MediaPortal
    2. rename old TvLibrary and copied new one to TvServer location
    3. start TvService again
    4. start MP in Debugmode
    5. start Tv at DiscoveryChannel
    6. close MP => Watchdog collecting Logs

    Logs attached:)

    Logs removed to save space

    Hi again FreakyJ

Thank you for the logs. They are perfect! :D

    No problem :).

In particular, the most important thing to notice is that your tuner supports version 2 of the CI API. This means that my guess was correct. I'll start updating the code to make sure both versions of the API can be supported. Having said that, I've been looking at the code that IDA generated today. I have a feeling that Terratec may have made up their own API for CI support. We'll deal with that issue when we come to it, but for the moment sit tight and I'll get back to you when I have something new for you to test.

(The Alphacrypt Classic should support Multidecrypt right? I think I already did it on the same transponder..., but I will do it again and attach logs ;)
To be honest, I don't really know much about individual CAMs' support for multidecrypt. The quote that you found suggests that it should support it...

I have never even used a CAM myself because here in New Zealand the only pay TV service uses NDS videoguard (for which there is no legal CAM). Not only that: the OEM Twinhan card that I used for testing doesn't have a CI.

And I only can decrypt on the same transponder, because the Terratec only support watching two channels on the same transponder)
Correct - that is a limitation for all cards.

The reason I asked about MultiDecrypt is that Melstig (the user in the other thread that I linked to) has a Terratec H7 which only decrypts multiple channels with the patch that I have also given to you. If Multidecrypt works with the original TV Server DLL then please be sure to test the new DLL too. If only the new DLL (or both) works for you then it should be safe to update the code to work for the H7, however if only the old DLL works then I'm going to have to figure out how to make Multidecrypt work for your Cinergy as well as his H7...
