Glenn (the creator of Mepo) was going to try and provide a 3D format, but it appears he didn't get around to it. I know he has been busy with a change in jobs and he hasn't been working on MediaPortal for quite some time.

Can you make sure you have Private messages turned on in your user cp.
Think you may not have, as know a couple of pm's have been sent.

PMs are/was active in the user settings for all users - im geting other messages without problems.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
