Cannot connect HDHomeRun tuner (1 Viewer)

I am brand new to MediaPortal.
I have installed MP 2.4.1 on Windows 10. It is a fresh install and fully up to date.
I have an HDHomeRun Flex DUO networked tuner assigned to static IP 192.168.0.74. It is working fine with the HDHomeRun viewer.
I have run the HDHomeRun utility to set the BDA compatibility mode to MediaPortal and I allowed the Windows Firewall access popup during MP2 install.
When I start MediaPortal 2 TV Configuration all I see under the computer name is the Radio Web Stream Card and the DVB-IP Media Portal IPTV source. I don't see any ATSC sources as I would expect.
I suspected that it might be a firewall issue so I completely disabled Windows firewall on the PC running MP2 but that did not help.
Any suggestions?

You have done everything that I would have suggested, so this will require attention from one of the experts. However...

They won't be able to help you without debug-level logs:
    • In the MP client, navigate to "Settings".
    • Somewhere within "Settings" there should be a setting for log level. Set it to the maximum possible ("All", I think).
    • Close the client and reboot for the new setting to take effect.
    • Start "MP2 TV Server Config" and go to the panel where the tuners are listed.
    • Exit "Tv Server Config" and use the MP2 log collector to gather all of the logs (there are many) into a single zip file.
    • Add the zip file to this thread as an attachment.

    Thanks for the help.
I went into the MP2 TV Configuration / General / Application and ensured that Log level was set to debug (it already was). Closed it
Opened MP2 Settings / General / System / Diagnostics / enable debug logging / Increase verbosity - YES. Closed it.
    Restarted the system.
Opened MP2 TV Configuration and opened the TV Servers section. Still no HDHomeRun tuner.
Existed and used the Log Collector. File is attached. I hope these help.

I have had a quick look at the logs, but I cannot find where TV Server queries the tuners installed.
I hope that the instructions that I gave you for generating the logs were correct.

This really will require attention from the experts. @Brownard @ge2301

In first step I'd recommend to uninstall MP2 and then install the newest version of MP2, Version 2.5 with NET4 and again TVE3 (please do not choose TVE3.5 at the moment). It's based on a new installer, so maybe the problem is already solved by this.

If this doesn't help we need to see further.

Did a full Windows 10 install from scratch and installed MP2 2.5 with .NET and TVE3.

Same result as before. Only items that appear in TV Server Config are the default Radio Web Stream Card and the DVB-IP Media Portal IPTV Source.

Confirmed access to the HDHomeRun tuner from the same PC at 192.168.0.74.

    New log files attached

Sorry, forgot to enable debug/verbose before collecting logs. Will try again and update the attachment.

I came across a 2013 post 'HDHomerun dual not appearing as tuner' reporting the same issue. They resolved it by doing a 'repair' on the HDHomeRun install.

FYI for those that find this thread in the future...
wkkawakka's HDHR install somehow got screwed up. The BDA filters were not registered properly. We fixed it by using the "repair" button on the HDHR Setup tool advanced tab.

Rebuilt from scratch again. Installed MP2 2.5 .NET with TVE3.
Opened MP and TV configuration and set debug level in each.
Restarted the system. Opened TV Configuration and found the same result. No ATSC tuner.
    Collected Logs and attached.

I then opened the HDHomeRun Setup App, confirmed that the BDA mode was still set for MediaPortal, went to the advanced tab and clicked repair and then Apply. The app indicated that the configuration was updated. Clicked OK to exit.
Restarted the PC again and opened TV Configuration app. Same result. Second set of logs also attached.

There are no errors in your logs, so MP2 is not complaining about missing access.
However I can also see, that the BDA device is not found at all. There are 2 potential root causes.
    • The BDA driver is not correctly installed (I believe your statement, but maybe something didn't work out in the background. The HDHR software is not using the BDA driver as I understood)
    • Security issue with firewall, virus scanner, ..., so the IP is not reachable

Can you try TVMosaic once? It's enough to try with the TVMosaic server, so you can configure and test everything with a web browser. It can be also connected with MP2 client, but that'S not needed in first step.
A manual can be found here. It's really pretty easy.
