Cannot get banners to show up in My TV Series v2.0.0.0 (1 Viewer)

Been using My TV Series for quite some time now without a problem in the world. However, since upgrading to the latest Mediaportal 1.0 RC1 and My TV Series v2.0.0.0 on a clean install of XP I just cannot seem to get the banners to display in my TV Series no matter what I do....

Does anyone have any clues as to what I could possibly be missing?

I know from previous experience you'll need to provide more information. Do the banners show up in the configuration interface (the details tab of the plugin settings) but not the MP interface? Which skin are you using? What does the log file say when you click "start import"?

There does seem to be an issue with updating a new series banner or a new episode image (see the last couple pages of the "test new API" thread). If you click "Start Import" do the banners download? Also, check your mirror setting under "Online Data Sync". I previously had it set for "http://www.thetvdb.com/interfaces" like the Wiki documentation shows but it would return 404 errors. I changed it to "http://thetvdb.com" and it started working again ("http://www.thetvdb.com" also works).

If it's a skin error - try a different skin to see if the problem persists. In my experience, Monochrome and Indigo are both rather reliable and easy to use (though Blue Two is still easier to see on smaller screens).

The banners definatly do not load in the configuration screen and I am using the X-Face skin - All TV series stored on network attached storage.

what firewall do you use? Have you added the appropriate .exe's to the safe/trusted zone?

I run a hardware firewall (Smoothwall V3.0 with addons) located in a network rack in my garage - As far as I am aware it is not blocking any data transfer.

Well. The log says it's finding banners. If you go to the Details tab of the config screen and click on a series name, on the right side you should have a drop down where you can see all the banners listed for that series (usually represented by a string of numbers). Do you see that? If you click on any of those names you should see the banner displayed in that box above the series information. If that is there then it is downloading banners (you can also check the "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\MPTVSeriesBanners" directory for the banner files).
Under Media Portal Display Control tab, do you have the "Series Listing format" dropdown set to graphical?
Lastly... how does it look in Blue Two skin? If it works there then it's a skin issue.

my log was saying i was downloading banners. In the thumbs folder the files were there, but they were blank. I added the exe's to my Kapersky firewall and the banners then downloaded properly and displayed.

Checked the details section of the config screen, clicked on a series tab and checked for banners, there was none present.

Went to C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal only to find that there is no 'thumbs' directory even present?!

What the hell?

So even when your firewal was blocking the My TV Series plugin access to the internet Davidegee do you know whether you still had the thumbs folder present?
