When i first started using logos, the log said it was working but I hadn't created the directory. Try creating a thumbs folder in that directory and redo the import. Be sure Media Portal is completely closed when you create the folder.
If that still doesn't work, try reinstalling Media Portal to see if it will create the folder with the proper references for you (if there is a repair option during installation try that). Beyond that... it's a Media Portal issue and not a MyTV Series issue I think. If you create the directory though it should be okay. Be sure to also check the 'About' tab in the MyTV Series config as the other folder directories will be listed there and you may need to create those as well if they aren't already.

I was going over the 'About' section in the configuration of the My TV Series plugin and founf that the banners are being saved to the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\MPTVSeriesBanners

As opposed to:

C:\Program files\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\Plugins

When I got to the MPTVSeriesBanners directory I find sub directories with the names of all my TV series with what looks like empty JPEG files in them relating to the TV series in question?!

Either my hardware firewall 'is' somehow blocking the downloads and My TV Series is actually saving a whole lot of nothing, or the TV series plugin is playing up?

I have only recently discovered the wholesome goodness of the My TV Series plugin and am experiencing the same problem.

I am using MP 1.0 RC1.

Thank christ!

It's not just me then.

According to the logs everything is downloaded and written correctly, I just can't work it out....

And you're using the same version of Mediaportal I am noonereallycares.

I'm about to drag the HTPC around to a friends place and try downloading the banners there just in case it's my firewall....But somehow, I highly doubt the firewall is at fault.

Thank christ!

You're not going to be happy for long.

It turns out that after a bit of checking that the MP system was being excluded from my transparent proxy, I found that the system was still being forced through the squid proxy. The banners were being mangled by squidguard because the url contains /banners/.

A few minutes to change the rules in squidguard was all it took to fix the problem.

So that you don't make the same mistake that I did, have you checked that the banners appear correctly in a browser on the MP system?

Have you tried the "Use alternative Image Loading Logic" option in MP-TVseries' MediaPortal display control tab? I did have problems and I checked that and now I get banners showing in MP.

Also, I entered my "TheTVDatabase.com Account-ID" in Import Settings/Online Data Sync as well so if the above does not work for you, you might wanna sign up for an account. But check my first suggestion first.

    Good luck

Noonereallycares, your post is terribly interesting as my firewall runs a transparent proxy running squid - I will have a play with the firewall and see what happens as it does appear as if something is mangling the banners.

I did have a problem displaying banners in my browser however I found that they were displaying correctly once I disabled my Adzapper application in the firewall settings, the only problem is that while the banners were now displaying correctly in my browser I still coulden't download them correctly in the My TV Series config.

    Will have a play today.

Emphatic, I did try ticking the "use alternative image loading logic" checkbox and I still coulden't get the banners to download correctly/display.

    Success!!

    Thanks for the help guyz...

The problem was originally related to the adzapper filter on my firewall blocking the download of the banners used by My TV Series - Which was something I worked out yesterday when I realized that I coulden't even view the banners directly from the tvdb site. Unfortunately, while attempting to rectify the problem I must have ticked the checkbox in the My TV Series config labeled "Download blank series and season banners" - And was therefore, downloading a whole lot of nothing! Had me stumped why disabling the adzapper filter didn't fix the problem - I was sure it would have fixed it, now I know why....

Ahhh, my HTPC is complete again.
