Cannot import previously recorded progs (1 Viewer)

I have all my tuners record programs onto a separate hard drive and there are lots there.

Previously, when I have been "tweaking" MP I have been able to import all the previously recorded programs into MP by using the import button in Recording settings. THis time the programs are not showing to allow me to import them. Programs that I have recorded since the "tweaking" are showing and, in Windows Explorer, I can see that the program folder contains both the new and older programs.

I guess this is just a question of resetting the database to allow imports again but I am not sure how this can be done.

The tweaking that I mentioned just involved geting my tuners to rescan for channels.

Hope someone can shed some light.

I had the same issue after trying to rescan my channels weeks ago .... lost all the recorded programs. As far as I can tell, nothing changed in the channel labels or my config. They were on a dedicated drive, in the recorded TV folders for each tuner, just would not show up in the import list. I ended up just living with it, and moving the programs to a My Video share folder.

It would be nice to see them in Recorded TV, though.

This may be down to the way windows itself handles files, if its possible can you move them to a new destination, then open TVServer and remove them from recorded database, try moving them back and reimport.

BUT

I used it to get recorded TV into the database that NEVER showed up before. I have a 'record everytime on this channel', the shows are recorded, the .ts files are written to the recorded TV folder, but they never show up under recorded TV

Anybody a similar experience?

Are there no xml files for these recordings, they may be in a sub folder, try moving all files into the main recording folder.

Yes, the .xml files where there with the .ts files.

The shows recorded earlier on this schedule where together in a folder, but the last one was not.

In PM, 'recorded TV' showed the folder as empty and didn't show the last recorded show in the list either. I put this last one in the folder and then restored the DB as you suggested. Now al shows are there and also the new shows are recorded without a problem. Thanks again.
