Can't blast more than once (1 Viewer)

I tried to blast two commands. One of the commands I tried to blast was really created using an old version (about a year ago). But the other one was new and was created with this version. I have now removed the old command and gave it another try with only the updated command - still the same. Log file is attached.

Hmmm, damn ... I thought I'd figured it out.

There must be some incompatibility with your device ... Maybe it expects a delay between commands or some sort of reset between commands ... I have seen XP MCE sending data to the device seemingly for no reason ... might be some sort of keep-alive or something ...

Is your MCE device an oem Microsoft one or is it a 3rd party device?

Do you have any other software running that might be interfering with the plugin? HIP, Girder, EventGhost, MCE services?

Is it a Version 1 device maybe?

It used to work fine with the older versions though I take it?

Sorry for ruining... At first when I read your post for a moment I also thought the we have found the problem.

    To your questions,
It is a Microsoft OEM. I have used it for over a year with MP 0.2.2.0 and whatever version the plugin was on these days and it worked great - it took me only one hour to configure everything to work.

There are no other software using this devices and this is a plain XP (no MCE) which I reinstalled a week ago.

The only differece between now and the last installation with 0.2.2.0 (that worked fine) is the replacement driver I used then which I am not using now - could that be the reason?

Hmm, the replacement driver is usually worse than the default driver. So I hope that's not the reason.

The plugin has changed a lot since the earlier versions, it's probably something I've changed that has broken the compatibility with your device...

But you said earlier that it will blast in configuration multiple times .... right ?

Hmm. ... I might have to do some serious testing on this ...

I'll have to get back to you I'm afraid... Might be a day or two ... if you don't hear from me then make sure and remind me :)

    Cheers,

That's right. In configuration blasting works just fine.

    Thanks a lot.

I admire your dedication and will to help.

wow, I know I made a couple of minor changes to the device interfacing, but nothing I expected to make a difference ...

hmmm, could be something to do with the initialization of the device. I added a couple of commands at initialization that I've seen MCE do but I don't know what they mean ... maybe that's fixed it ...

I'll investigate further, but that's great that it's working for you now!

    Cheers,

This is good news! I have been having the same issue recently. The TEST in the STB setup would work fine, and then the first channel I change to would be OK once inside TV, but then fail on any other channel changes.

From reading this, I assume re-learning all commands would be worth my time as they were created with the MCE Replacement plugin?

Yes, IR files created with the MCE Replacement Plugin from a few versions ago, or created with HIP or Girder (they both use the MceIr.dll from Bruno Fleurette) don't contain any information about the IR Carrier Frequency, and are detected with the long-range receiver which is not as accurate as the short-range receiver that IR Server Suite (and MCE) uses for learning.

If you re-learn the IR Commands with the newer software you should have better blasting accuracy.

    Cheers,

Perhaps my situation was a little different. It wasn't the accuracy, it just wasn't blasting at all after the first time. Regardless, I'm sure it will be better once I get upgraded and relearn all of the commands.
