MediaPortal Version: SVN Rev. 11293 (10-24-2006)
Windows Version: XP MCE 2005
CPU Type: Pentium 4 3.4ghz
HDD: 300gb Maxtor Diamondmax 10 (SATA)
Memory: 1gb
Video Card: ATI Radeon x600 Pro 256mb
Sound Card: C-Media HD Audio
1. TV Card: Hauppauge WinTV Nova T USB2
1. TV Card Type: DVB-T
2. TV Card: Analog Tuner (Shows as NVTV but not sure)
2. TV Card Type: Analog

When I open MediaPortal and go to My TV, I don't get the option to enter the address of the server, its just like its always been but without being able to view TV because of removing the tuner cards from MediaPortals configuration.exe

I did the following exactly (twice now):

1) Install 0.2.0.0
2) Install MediaPortal-svn--10-24-2006--10-01-Rev11293.exe
3) Run configuration.exe & delete the tuner cards from the list
4) Run the tv server setup.exe
5) Run setuptv.exe, enter sql server password & scan for channels (they're listed fine)
6) Run the client plugin setup
7) Run MediaPortal & go to My TV

MediaPortal is installed in the default location & the client plugin is definately being installed to the same path, but it doesn't seem to be loading, instead I get the old My TV.

Oh, and before that I did do the sql server express setup, and thats working fine because setuptv.exe reports success when I click test.

Any ideas?

    1. use latest svn build of MP (you already have it i see)
    2. use the bluetwo skin
    3. make sure the plugin is installed within the mediaportal folder
If all is well there should be a plugins\windows\tvplugin.dll

    4. Check mediaportal.log for errors
    5. read the troubleshooting section in the wiki

    I already played with the self compiled version the last couple of days. One thing i noticed was;

When you install the server and client on the same machine, it NEVER ask me the ip adres of the server, it just works :)

If you install the client on a different machine, then the change button screen appears.

I installed it a couple of times, different versions, etc. Server and client on the same machine. No questions asked, but worked perfectly? I don't know if this is intended.

Its always nice to see a post saying that everything is working fine!
    Thx

i still got this problem i got a big error saying it cannot find the SQLserver and that it is not accepting remote connections but when i go look up those recommend settings i got all the same. I got sql server and sql browser running, i opened all the requested ports in all my firewalls (just to be sure) and still nothing happens.

OK then, tvplugin.dll is in the correct dir so it is the new plugin showing, its just I was expecting to see the box shown in the wiki.

Anyway, I try to turn the tv on and get the following message after a delay of a few seconds:

    Code:
    Unable to start timeshifting

    No video/audio detected

and in the log there is this:

OK, if I choose channel & select a channel it works, it seems it just won't show BBC one for some reason, other channels are fine though.

Looking forward to testing out connecting from another system this evening :)

OK, I had the same issue as Burty, but it seems the solution is the same. I'm running MP client on the same machine as the server so didn't get the prompt but once I changed a channel for the first time all worked well.

I'd also like to give a big congrats on how fast the DVBT zapping is. It's a massive improvement over the last TV engine...

yeah i agree as a whole is a massive improvement, i dont' get any stutter after changes like i did on the old engine, even tho this may not be the case i actually think i'm getting better reception and picture quality with the new setup, great work guys, its brilliant

One thing I noticed for my setup was: to get MP not physically located on the server to work I had to enable the MYSQL server browser on the server machine. Once I did this the EPG showed up and I am able to view TV.

I am going to have to ditch this wireless net work to. Analog tv works but OTA HD kicks it's butt.
