First, MP TV Server Config recognizes my tuner. Good. I've set the tuner up as a hybrid card. Under the name of my computer it recognizes the two tuners as:

3 ATSC USB HDTV-GT BDA Tuner (ATSC)
4 Analog USB HDTV-GT Tuner

I have installed the tuner card and its packaged software which comes with it works great. The tuning software it comes with shows it working with it too (both audio & video). However, I cant get it to tune any digital channels on the ATSC tuner (shows no signal for everything) and when I try to tune analog channels i get the message "Please install a supported audio/video encoder for your software analog card".

What logs should I upload, and what would people like me to try to do before logging the problem? I've been using MP for a few years now and this tuner has never worked -I just assumed that one day there would be an update to fix it but it has not come so I'm beginning to think it is my problem.... PLEASE HELP!

Hi ThatTexasKid,

I have a similar problem. I have a LifeView Duo DVB-T/Analogue hybrid card and the DVB-T component has worked since I started using MediaPortal about 4 years ago. Now with 1.1 RC1 it has stopped working. Card is detected but when I carry out a scan against UK All Regions all I ever get is "no signal" against each frequency.

I have installed the software that comes with the card and this works 100% okay. I have also back rev'd to MP 1.0 Stable and it scans 100% okay as well. My DVB-S card also works perfectly.

Can't find any info on what logs are required to back up the issue.....

Any ideas folks?

The Monkey.

UPDATE:

i downloaded GB-PVR to see if it could detect my tv tuner(s) and use them. And it did. It works just fine. I appreciate all the functions of Mediaportal, but it sure would be nice if setting up a TV tuner was as simple as GB-PVR made it. Again, please help!

EDIT: all this means (i think) is that my tv tuner is installed correctly.

EDIT2: so i found some random thread telling me to install WinDVR Trial Edition (which has absolutely nothing to do with my product) and now its picking up analog channels and i do not get the "Please install a supported audio/video encoder for your software analog card" message anymore. ill update when its done scanning... havent tried digital yet.

EDIT3: digital doesnt work. still no signal on every channel.

sorry to keep updating this but i dont know what to do!

PROBLEM: my digital tuner picks up 'No signal' on every channel it scans for

Things to consider:
1) Both digital & analog work in the software that came with my TV tuner
2) Both digital & analog work in GB-PVR.
3) Only analog (so far) picks up channels and works in Mediaportal

What logs do I need to post!? And what should I try to log to show to you guys? Thank you so much, please please help!

Attached tv.log & error.log

1) The logs were cleared
2) MP TV Server Config was started
3) Changed to scan for QAM Standard frequencies
4) Clicked scan, let it scan about 4 channels, hit stop (will do the same for all channels)

5) Here is what it spit out.

--Again, I've installed my TV Tuner properly as the software it came with & GB-PVR can do both analog & digital.

--Keep in mind, I only have problems with digital... Analog is fine. Please Help!!!

In the posted logs it does not log no signal, it just can't find your tuner for some reason.

Could you try the RC3 version and post full logs if it is still not working? Please post it as a bugreport in the RC3 subforum.

I am using RC3 and I was unable to get anything. Till I installed the WinDVR3 trial, now I am getting channels on the Analog but like the OP nothing for ATSC, can't find any QAM either. Find that odd because it works in WMC, and also my tv can pick them up with it's built in tuner. I am using a WinTV HVR-950Q
