Anyway, IMO it should all be rolled back cause all this stuff delays 0.2 release again. There are new bugs that came in with Mosquiss' changes and all the testing the test team did on this part during the passed months is something for the trash now.

We have a clear feature freeze and every developer with SVN write access should respect this. Otherwise we will never get a stable release.

After 0.2 all is possible again, tons of new features, rewrites or whatsoever can all be put in again.

Mosquiss, we would rather like to talk to you in IRC than having to discuss it here on the forums. Please stop committing for now and have a talk with James.

    Just another point of view.

The changes since 30/5 are not, in my opinion, an improvement. As far as I was concerned, and I didn't see any posts to the contrary, this was a feature which just worked fine, and wasn't in need of "improving".

It is great that with open source software, anyone can make a contribution. However, it's not so good when someone makes a change to make the software work more how they personally would like it to work, and it is a negative for most of the user base.

Mosquiss - thanks for your contribution, but perhaps it would be worth starting a thread to discuss this feature, and the proposed changes, before committing code to SVN. And definitely wait for 0.2.

    Best wishes to all.

The only thing missing, for me, was that the download information is only saved in the database. I would like to see that the information is also added to the moviedirectory in a XML file i.a.. So when a new version of MP is released the movie information database can be updated by scanning the movies directory for coverart and movie information. Like ID3 tags for MP3, but then in a sepparate file. This would be a lot faster then manualy having to download the movie information again thrue the MP interface.

Now this would be fantastic. I have three HTPCs, with one of them containing the bulk of the media files. It's a bore to rebuild the database on all three after a major update.

Personally, I have all of the movie files in one folder. Is there any advantage to having a folder for each movie?

    Cheers,

I too keep my movies in a separate directory's. I would like to see the old code put back into MP and then later down the road (after 0.2 final) have some improvements made to the IMDB search.

I think the IMDB search was working just fine. I know it was slow, and you had to redo it every time you started with a fresh database.. but it was working.

I rip my dvd's and place each 1.4 gig file into a separate folder with the same name as the movie title. I miss the old behaviour and am looking to revert. Will i run into problems if i revert to an SVN prior to these changes? I find the imdb scan at this current stage unusable...
