I decided to upgrade my Ceton card to the eth6 model and I think I have everything set up the same as my pci4 card. It has pulled down channels and on occasion it will timeshift a channel if tuned manually but then the service will throw an error (ranges from "Unknown" to cards busy) and then it seems to 'drop' and will not tune again until restarted.

The ceton diagnostic tool gives a thumbs up when I tune.

It is a new install of windows 7; new install of mediaportal. Any help would be awesome.

    Hello Firemogle

The "cards busy" error seems to be because the tuner disconnects itself.

    1. Tuner detected.

I have no idea why the tuner disconnects itself.

    As for the unknown error...
It seems like the tuner stops sending streaming data (video, audio etc.).

That FFFFFFFE is an error code which means RUN_ERROR_NO_DATA_AVAILABLE.

    I can't explain that either.

Do you use any network security software?
Also, is your network wired, wireless, powerline...? ...gigabit, 100 M...?

    Hi.

Well, I would also check "control Panel->Power Options->advanced power options" and check network power settings and see that they cannot go into power saving mode.

As @mm1352000 already mentoined network connetion could also be "quilty" for such behavior. Is this reqular pattern. Ie. happens on reqular time period, or randomly. If it happens for example every 12 hours or so, there could also be an DHCP lease time, which causes short break while IP address is renewed.

That then is related to how is your home network arranged. If you have for example DSL modem, you propably have your own private network, which has it's own dhcp server that can be controlled from dsl modem.

    Br,

    Thanks for the replies,

I'll take a look at the network settings tonight; the firewall should be off, and I run gigabit cat6 in the house so it shouldn't be a bandwidth issue. I haven't looked at the power settings but I don't think its a power saver, it happens on boot, and while remoted into the machine. The timeshifting I am attempting at this point is all through the manual control, not even trying a front end as of yet.

The system I installed it on is a used rackmount server with dual gig nics; could this cause issue? I'll try unplugging on tonight to test but it sounds like the config is not the problem and I got some network troubleshooting to do.

So I think it was a hardware issue with the new server. I reconfigured my old machine and through some growing pains it seems to work.
The new hardware seemed a little "groggy" and seemed slower than it should. I am going to see what its issue is but I think the hard drive system is not up to snuff.
