There used to be a GROUP button in the main MYTV GUI page,
it was removed because it was obsolete.

As of now the easiest way is to use the mini epg from the fullscreen TV; with the ATI remote press the OK button to bring up the MINI epg then arrow buttons to navigate L-R to change group and U-D to navigate within group.
you dont have to have MyTV in fullscreen. it also works in the MyTV homescreen. :)

What do you mean by obsolete? It is somewhat strange that in order to get to the channel you want when starting TV you first have to go to fullscreen for any channel you happen to be on. First there was a ligit menu item, then there was a shortcut in the miniepg and so the menu item is now obsolete? Mmm..

sorry. i have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. why do you got to fullscreen???

when i enter MyTV and i want to watch a channel in group "Documentation".
    1. then i just click the "Channels" button
    2. if the wrong group is active i click "left" or "right" on my remote to change the group
    3. then i select the channel

    where is your problem?

before that it was like this:
    1. go to MyTV
    2. press group button
    3. select the group
    4. then first channel in that group was tuned
    5. then press channels button
    6. then select the channel

now which approach offers the better usability?
the old, or the new way?

    Hi Chris,

If it works this way, that would be very nice.
It's just that i've never seen this feature documented somewhere.

I'll check tonight if it works with ati-remote or cursor-left/right.

    Thanks, Eppo

I'd like to have 'change group button' also in 'big epg'

I'd like to have 'change group button' also in 'big epg'. It works via the context menu, but having a button would be much easier (and faster) to use.

    :)

I agree on that. Maybe the area now occupied by the title of the currently active group could be changed in such a button.
Or a keyboard or remote button 'change group' would be helpful.

    :D for your quick answer!

    infinityloop,

    Thank you for the reply.

I am not asking for any change to it now since MediaPortal II is coming.

But I would like to have this function in MediaPortal II.
I think miniEPG could be removed, and make TVGuide even bigger like full screen.
TVGuide maybe is the most often feature used while watching TV, so a quick access would be better.

If you want to add them, you could always find place. If you ask me, I actually prefer no buttons at all on screen, just define keys for them, using a remote gives you real feeling of watching TV.

Anyway it is an excellent software, thank you very much.

    :D
