I have setup a new system with the RC1 - SVN 1 version. and i'm trying to get the tv server working, at this point i can't even get it to play the preview channels after channel scan, so i can't move on with the install. when i try to access a channel it says "channel is scrambled" i have tried to test the floppydtv via the firedtv viewer software and it works fine. Please let me know what I can try to do since this is giving me gray hair. I have tried to remove the CAM and also to completely turn off the system on the main power supply.

My system in running with win XP - SP3, i'm not sure if this is a problem. because when i look at the floppydtv info tool is says:
Windows Hotfixes:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KB896626: not installed
KB885222: not installed

but i'm not able to install the hotfixes because my windows install says my files are newer or that the files are already included. And as it does work in the firedtv software i guess it's not a problem.

Thanks
Nick

Is there any info I can attach that will improve my chances of getting some help? I love my MP setup but oh my god it can also give some hefty scars in the WAF hehe.

Thank you for getting back to me Roy! :)

I removed both tuners and reinstalled them and now there's a bit positive progress.

They're both seen by the tv server configuration app. and I have tried to disable each om them to test if both tuners works and that worked. But when i'm trying to test the dual tuners within MP it acts like it's a single tuner setup.
When I record a channel almost all others change to Unavailable and it says:

    unable to start timeshifting
    no free card availalble

if i try to change channel. This is exactly how my system reacted when only 1 tuner was installed.

I have made sure the all channels are mapped to each tuner.

I hope you have an idea :)

Hey thank you for replying :)

Diable EPG .... and try if you get a problem of "no free card availalble"

I have already disabled internal EPG DVB grabbing I use an xmltv version.

Also if you scan on one card.... Thouse channels are ONLY MAPED TO THAT CARD" you need to map the scanend channel to the second card..

I have done 2 scannings, 1 for each card. And all channels are mapped to both cards, is that what you mean?

Also what cam are you using?? and what firm on the firedtv the tool is here digital everywhere - FireDTV Support Tool

    CAM Modules: Conax 4.00e

    HW Ver.: 01.24.04
    FW Ver.: 1.0.1 Build 13440

    thanks again :)

one of the tuners seem to have a weak signal strength but when I try to test each card in the tv server setup app they both play?

And the windows updates that aren't installed are due to me running with win xp SP3 and i can't install the updated, I think they're already included?
I'll try to look at the conax thread too.

I do not have any problems with normal channel and even the free HD channels. Everything is working perfectly with this lovely software (Mediaportal), only... I found out that in the FireDTV viewer I can actually watch some of the (supposed to be scrambled) HD channels like National Geographic HD and Discovery HD. They are marked as scrambled in FireDTV viewer AND in Mediaportal. FireDVT viewer doesn't care though, I can watch these channels without a problem; but not in Mediaportal. I do not have any CAM or descrambling available.

Is there a posibility to let Mediaportal try to show the channel even if it is marked as scrambled?
