TV-Server Version: Rev14082
MediaPortal Version: Rev14082
Windows Version: Windows XP SP2
CPU Type: AMD64 3000+
HDD: Samsung 250Gb
Memory: 512 Mb
Motherboard: MSI
Motherboard Chipset: Nvidia
Video Card: Nvidia FX5200
1. TV Card: FloppyDTV-S
1. TV Card Driver: BDA Driver 4.8

I noticed that the tv server/mediaportal combination is getting more stable compared to a few weeks ago but i still have one BIG problem that i did not have with the MediaPortal 0.2.2 release. After using TV server/MP for a while i get "channel is scrambled" errors, FTA channels still work. I need to completely shutdown my mediacenter to be able again to watch scrambled channels. This does not happen when using MP 0.2.2 without tv server on the same machine so i guess it is not an hardware issue with my cam (official dutch canaaldigitaal cam and smartcard).

Beside that i noticed that when i step through the timeshifting buffer nothing happens in the timeshift scrollbar at the top, ... it stays all blue without any colors or indicators.

this one happens to me too from time to time. i always thought it was a problem with the CAM. I didn't test it with TV-Engine 2, maybe this is a bug in TV-Engine after all?

I get this as well in recent SNVs. What I see in the traces is things like "Smart card not inserted" but it is inserted and sometimes, after changing channels, it works again. But sometimes I have to restart the TV server to get it working again.

I am using the TT S2-3200 with Alphacrypt Light and had not so much problems with earlier SVNs.

I am not sure but it seems that every time it happens i switch from a FTA channel back to a scrambled channel. Also before i get the scrambled channel error sometimes it starts showing the last recording made from start with every channel change. If i then turn of tv and back on i get the scrambled channel error. Strange behaviour indeed ... ;)

Yes, the same happens to me as well. Quite annoying. A developer should have a look on this.

Today, I have listened to Radio (unscrambled channel). I stopped Radio and left MP idle for a while. Then I tried to restart the radio (still the same unscrambled channel) and I got the error message again. The log "TsWriter.log" shows
    Keine Smartkarte gesteckt

However, the smart card should not even be involved in this because it is an unscrambled channel.

I then stopped the TVService and restarted it (the smart card in my CI slot remained untouched) and then it worked again! So definitely a TVServer bug.

    Hello,

I have the same problem, but it occured after I changed from TV to Video and back to TV, so I didn't switch from an unscrambled channel to a scrambled one. If I restart the TV-Server everything seems fine again, but just until I do some switching switching of activities :(

    Hi guys,

I am using an Alphacrypt-light CAM Module. I think this problem _might_ originate of the CAM Module's settings, since I just played around with "CA-Mode", "Smartcard report", "Force reading of original PMT", "CA-PMT Erase-time" and I now can watch the scrambled channels again.

I want to outline that this is just a guess and I will continue to test until I will consider to confirm that this is the source of the error :).

Could you please post the exact settings of you CAM, with which you got it working?

Also, maybe a developer could tell us, what the best settings are.

However, I have the impression that it worked more stable in earlier SVN releases so maybe a developer could really look at our traces and give a comment...

sure (I translated the following expressions freely from german, so the actual reading may differ slightly):

    CA-Mode: SINGLE / STATIC
note: This setting is ONLY working if you are using just ONE smartcard and never change it !

    Smartcard report: OFF

Force reading of original PMT: ON
note: This setting can increase channelswitchtimes up to 4 seconds.

    CA-PMT Erase-time: 1s

Also, maybe a developer could tell us, what the best settings are.

I doubt that there is a global optimal setting since every system is different. There might although be some settings that are usefull for us since we all use pc's instead of standard set-top boxes. CA-PMT Erase-time is necessary to be changed for HDD based decoders (i.e. PC's) in contrast to set-top boxes as per documentation of the CAM-Module.

However, I have the impression that it worked more stable in earlier SVN releases so maybe a developer could really look at our traces and give a comment...

I don't know this since I can use (more or less) the TV-Server since about a week because I had another error (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/no_pmt_received_tv_server_bug-t20556.html) ;)

Force reading of original PMT: ON
note: This setting can increase channelswitchtimes up to 4 seconds.

Try "AUTO" on this one. It forces the reading of the original PMT just if an error occurs. This helps to prevent a significant increase of the channelswitchtime ;) .
