I don't know how to do C# programming but can cobble together auto-it scripts and the like.

What I want to do is create a script that can somehow check to see if the any of my TV cards are recording and execute an application if they are.

I have a touchscreen built into my HTPC case and I need a way of informing the user if the TV Server is currently recording a program. I shutdown my HTPC with a simple batch script and I would like to use an auto-it replacement that could first check the TV card status and throw up a simple warning on screen if I try initiate a shutdown.

I did want to try and use a LED to show the status but the methods on this forum didn't work for me and there is no other way of knowing what the cards are upto unlyss you use Media Portal all the time or have the taskbar showing, neither of which I do.

So, does anyone know an easy way to check the status of the cards?

Why not shift to tv-server, then u don't have to care if u shut down GUI?

I am actually already using TV Server RC2 but its single seat on my HTPC system which i'm almost thinking of switching to my media server.

The issue is if I shut down the machine, down goes the recording too.

I am aware of the app you have mentioned and even the modded version that activates an LED too, but the icon in the taskbar is no good if you hide the taskbar and the modded application doesn't work for me.

All the knowledge on this forum and no one has any useful ideas for me

In my setup I let MP do all the shutdown neccesary.

In TV-Server Configuration I have enabled the Power Scheduler, and set the system to shut down after being idle for 5 minutes. I have also checked the box to wakeup server for various events.
This works ok, but I have to manually turn of TV before it can shut down after 5 minutes. I user hibernation as shutdown-method.
