Server set-up and working fine. Clients in house (LAN) set-up and working fine (talking TV here). Problem - Trying to use a client to watch TV over the WAN (internet), doesn't work. Here's the message in the error.log :
2009-10-09 08:28:41.270126 [ERROR][TvClient-Radio: HeartBeat transmitter thread]: TVHome: Error occured in constructor: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:31456
So obviously the first thing to check is the firewall. Port 31456 is open and redirected to correct system. Running a "shields up" test on the TV server gives :
GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2009-10-09 at 08:10:19 Results from probe of port: 31456 1 Ports Open 0 Ports Closed 0 Ports Stealth --------------------- 1 Ports Tested THE PORT tested was found to be: OPEN. TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH, - NO unsolicited packets were received, - NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.
This shows that the relevant port is open from t'internet. A netstat -an shows that MP is listening on that port too (which it must be anyway as the local clients connect ok) :
TCP 0.0.0.0:31456 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
Anyone got any ideas? Thanks. Edit - windows firewall on TV server is off. Client is WinXP SP3. Bob.
