hmm.. not a very busy forum
I have decided to go with ipaddresses on the client side.
Looking at the etherrealtrace I see that my client tries to initiate a ms-sql udp "connection". First with source port 1537, dest port is ms-sql (1434).
..y.x......E..E.w.%.........k.........c.o.X.ServerName;
TEST-740C33B95F;InstanceName;SQLEXPRESS;
IsClustered;No;Version;
9.00.2047;
This is the reply. The client then tries from a new source port with dest port ms-sql. pretty much the same reply each time. sourceport is incremented with one up to sourceport 1554.
I have tried setting "enable netbios over tcp/ip" (without knowing if this will help).
Also added (in /windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts):
192.168.0.107 TEST-740C33B95F
Anybody who can help me??? Please!
