When I turn TV on, the client only displays Black with no sound. I get Guide data and stream info. All other media from the server machine plays fine. Logs attached.

    Thanks,

    Hi Chuck

Do you only experience this issue on your dedicated client, or on both the client and the server too (ie. using MP installed on the server)? Could it be a wireless internet signal quality or firewall configuration issue? I ask that because the TCP connect times in your logs are quite high at ~1 second...

Only on my client. I am using a wired gigabit LAN. Firewall seemed to be configured correctly by the installer on both machines. As I mentioned, I don't have an issue playing media from my shares, only LiveTV and RecordedTV. (TS). Both machines are using SAF 6 and settings in config are the same. The Client "thinks" it is playing a TV stream, but only displays a black screen. I do not, though, get the pause or skip popups, I do get the mini-guide (shows the channel active "yellow") and the STOP TV popups. My HTPC/Server shows that the stream is active, and I can get tuning details on the client.

I didn't have this issue in MP 1.0.2, UNTIL I had done a Windows Update a few months back. I had reported it then also, suspecting it might have been the update. I was hoping installing 1.2B would take care of it.. the only thing missing is the "cannot play stream" message, which returned me to the MyTV GUI.

Thanks for looking into this for me.

    Chuck

Sorry - should have seen that in your first post.

My HTPC/Server shows that the stream is active, and I can get tuning details on the client.
Okay, I think I'm able to visualise the issue better now. The strange thing for me as a TV Server dev is that your TV Server logs don't contain any tuning requests at all. Is that because these are client logs? I'd like to see some server logs too if that is possible...

The first weird thing I spot in the MP log is:

A skin issue? Not really sure what to make of this because I don't know the MP client code well enough.

    Shortly after that I see:

Looks like you start watching channel "6-2 RetroTV" successfully, but perhaps the earlier issue has messed things up.

Here are new logs from both the HTPC/server and the Client.

The HTPC is full screen (but you probably only want the server logs) and the client is in a window.

    Thanks,

    Chuck

Okay... I did some additional testing.

I turned off my MS firewall just for S&G. I now can play the LiveTV stream, although it stutters very badly. And when I play a Recorded program, MP stalls completely on the RecordedTV screen. RecordedTV seems to play the stream but no image or sound, just hangs on the RecordedTV screen. I assume Pause and Skip were working (in the background), and when I hit Stop (keyboard "b"), operation of the RecordedTV screen resumed.

I can play the TS file from a recorded 1280x720 (mpeg2) program perfectly from the RecordedTV folder on the server using VLC. So it isn't a LAN bandwidth problem.
