Hi, I have a multi-seat setup and Mediaportal on the PC also running the tv-server runs fine. However, the 2nd client isn't able to use the TV functionality. The logs (zip attached) look fine, f.e. it states that:
Code:
2008-08-15 20:45:41.250000 [Info.][MPMain]: Remote control:master server :10.0.0.155
2008-08-15 20:45:41.312500 [Info.][MPMain]: ChannelNavigator::Reload()
2008-08-15 20:45:41.375000 [Info.][MPMain]: get channels from database
2008-08-15 20:45:41.578125 [Info.][MPMain]: found:37 tv channels

If I look at the EPG in this client, it shows 'No Channels' where the channel names are supposed to be and 'No data available' where the programs should be.

Any hints welcome.
Thanks.

Have you got the TVClient plugin installed on this machine, thats the usual problem, sorry on way out of door, but hope that gives a clue.

Thanks. I did have the My TV plugin enabled in the plugin section of the client....However, disabling this doesn't resolve the issue. I also tried to disable the Process plugin My Tv, but that also didn't solve things.

Help! I've deleted and re-installed MP @ Client. I've checked the Program database table: consists of 4300+ rows. From the Mediaportal.log I can see a connection is made to the server, however in the runtime application, any connection to the server is either void (leading to No CHannel...) or locks up MP (start watching a channel on the tv-server pc, then switch to the client to see this active stream and select). Especially this last example shows me that there is a connection, since it picks up the active stream.

    Thanks for you help.

To make matter worse (or stranger), I recorded a show on the tv-server and I'm able to play this from the Recorded-tv screen. Also, when there is an active stream, I can select this and also view this channel. So it seems as if everything works, except the EPG!

    Anyone?

I dont know much about Databases but I had a problem and I had to enable TCP in the Database Program (whatever is installed by default, Microsoft I think)
I just played around don't know what I did or I was doing but it fixed the problem at the time and seemed like a logical thing to enable

My oh my. How could I have not seen this after so long? I've been using MP for 3+ years now, but....
Yesterday evening I went over the entire setup of TV-server and Client again (must have been 25+ times). I first checked the channel setup in TV-Server config, all looked fine. Then I started the Client and went to the TVGuide. Again, of course, No Channels/No Data Available. I glanced over the screen once more, and then it hit me....In the top left corner the name of the TV Channel Group is written, and it showed "Analog".
I remembered that I had seen this group being created by the TV-Server setup, but I never bothered to look further, since my channels were grouped in different groups. Alas, the Analog group didn't *have* any channels.

I quickly changed the group on the Client and I finally saw a fully functioning EPG!!!!!

I then deleted the Analog group and all is well now.

Morale of the story: If you think it should work, keep on looking....

Thanks all for viewing and replying.
