I have a mediacenter running vista with the tv server and client running happily on. The problem is with my laptop with running the client on vista. Theres no firewall or any issues like that as its on the local lan and vista firewall is disabled. Whats more I had it working for about 2 hours before I rebooted it and it decided to stop working. Initially I had an issue with the client crashing however I changed the host name of the server from the ip to the hostname and it stopped crashing. The client runs fine and controls the server however no picture is displayed. I have run the client as administrator with xp compatibility settings. I've tried it with different codecs and it still doesnt work.

I'm pretty sure its something to do with permisions on vista and I've attatced my logs however maybe someone who actually understands what the logs mean can shed some more light.

Cheers

Definately showing permission errors, might be worthwhile disabling UAC under control panel\users, just to test, reboot neccessary.

ip to the hostname and it stopped crashing

Try actually changing all settings to ip address only, that means configuring mssql\mysql as well with the ip.

ps. what version of TVServer and MP are you using.
