    Hi,

I have a weird behavior here. Generally everything is working fine except for two channels. When I want to watch Sky Comedy or Sky Emotions most often all I get is a black screen and nothing is happening. However, I can doi channel up/down and can then watch the next channel without Problems.

The attached logs describe the following:

    1. TV Server restarted
    2. MePo restarted
    3. Selected Sky Comedy in the TV Guide and launched TV
    - Nothing happens: MePo still Shows TV guide.
    - However the log clearly shows that TV Server successflly tuned to Sky Comedy.
    - I can also see the timeshift files in the share being created.and written.
    4. Tuned to ProSieben: TV Plays OK
    5. Tuned to SkyComedy: TV Play OK
    - Often this would not be successful though and I would just see a black screen

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    HTPC_Sourcer

    Hello

    Here's the problem:

This channel is probably encrypted with PES level encryption (which TsWriter can't detect properly). So, TV Server completes the channel change before the channel is actually fully decrypting. Then when the TV plugin asks the server if the stream is decrypted (which it shouldn't do) the server finds that the channel is actually still encrypted, and that prevents you from watching it.

Sorry, there's probably no setting that you can change to solve this. I know what the problem is but I don't intend to fix it (or any other problem) in TVE 3, especially when it is already fixed in TVE 3.5.

    Regards,
    mm

    Hi mm,

    Thanks for the explanation.
This channel is probably encrypted with PES level encryption (which TsWriter can't detect properly). So, TV Server completes the channel change before the channel is actually fully decrypting.
really interesting. Surprising though that among 75 channels that German Pay TV provider Sky is offering I only have this issue with two. Anyway, I had ben planning to exchange my CAM and switch to something with higher performance. Maybe this will already help by decrypting faster.

especially when it is already fixed in TVE 3.5.
So the question is when the team believes this to be. And the answer probably is - "it's ready when it's ready!":D
