I've tried to implement that in Maya too last year but it wasnt possible back than .
How did you pull this off.

He pulled it of by incorporating it into his own plug; fanarthandler.
It still isn't possible directly from a bare MP, the plug adds the functionality.

Hi,

I was playing around a bit yesterday and wanted to see how the skin looks like in black. I will still use the blue color but will perhaps add an option in the menu editor so that you can choose between the blue or the black.

As I mentioned long ago I think black would be better to enhance the contrast for better readability +1!

But not too black though. Too high a contrast will result in 'glowing' text. Thats why windows mediacenter is blue. The contrast between white text and a blue background is an ideal combination.

Blue is also a nice balanced color to minimize brightness bloom/distortion on CRT TVs.

Besides, Blue compliments my living room colors.

... any chance you can add a weather thumb for radar/satellite image next to the today weather on the Basic Home Weather screen?

On the "Latest Series/Recordings" thumbs, a light image makes the labels unreadable. Is it possible to add a dark (transparent) bar behind the thumb labels?

Hi,

Most things are now ready for a first release of this new skin. I have just released a test version (Beta) of the fanart handler plugin. As soon as that plugin is properly tested and works without problems I will release version one of this skin.

I'l get back with more information as soon as I release Fanart Handler 2.2.
