Hey guys,

I am bit stucked with flv streams of Czech PrimaTV in Online videos. I am using the SAF5.0 unclocked, but this streams just replies with can play the stream... other online sources works fine with me. What surprised me in the log file is that MP is trying to play the stream with VRM9 althought I have EVR set in the MP configuration??

Any idea, is this an issue of flv splitter? should I try some other splitter than the one from SAF - I guess that is Cyberlink FLV splitter

I tryied also to download the file and play it in MPC-HC and VLC and it plays without prob.

Re: Cannot stream TED talks

When playing a TED talks video, I have to wait for complete file download to finish.
The iTunes Apple videos plays instantly.

Following is a graph for TED talks:

What am I missing?
I appreciate your support.

The reason for this is missing metadata in the files from TED. If any filter first wants to know the length of the file, they do a seek to end which will ofc first download the full file. This is normal and happens on many sites. To fix this we would need filters that don't behave like described. (I have the same problem on TED and I don't know which filter can do without metadata.)

The quicktime plugin for firefox version 6.7.9 is able to start playing the same TED talks videos without full download.
I tried, but I could capture the graph while video is being played through the plugin.

It would be nice if codecs provided a way to tweak this behavior.

This plugin does not use directshow filters, it is its own player, so you can't compare the capabilities.

I cant get onlinevideos playing a video no matter what I do. It always gives "no url" error for any site I try. I tried changing codec to SAF 4.0 (5.0 too) and also updating my NVIDIA drivers to latest (266.58). I configured the codec options same as the SAF thread. I also attached the logs.

Here is my setup: (It's a jetway mini-top)
    GPU: Nvidia ION 2
    CPU: Intel Atom D525
    OS: Windows 7 32 bit (SP1)
    RAM: 2 gb
    Mediaportal 1.1.2
    onlinevideos 0.28

I'm trying for 2 days now, hope someone can help me :)

I have a similar problem with codecs as many of the other posters. I have two computers with MP installed. One a laptop that has a lot of stuff on it and a desktop HTPC with very little on it. Both have Win7, iTunes, PDVD10, ffdshow ...
I have converted some of my old HD-DVD's to the MKV format. I can play them on my laptop but not on the desktop. I have tried many of the suggestions found, restored my desktop and tried something else. I have step by step looked at the ffdshow audio decoder configuration and made everything the same that I can. There are differences. My desktop has realtek HD output which is connected to my stereo via fiber. I tried with MS drivers, I tried with realtek drivers and I get the same results.

I am attaching my log files with MediaPortal.log from my desktop and MediaPortal-Laptop.log from my laptop. Surely, I am missing something simple. As far as I can tell everything else works great. It is only mkv files. BTW PDVD will play them without sound.

Thanks for everyones work. This forum has a great group of people.
I think I attached my log files.

As OnlineVideos 1.0.0.0 is released and comes with our own custom source filter and installs LAV Filters, this guide is now obsolete.
