Configuration.exe crashes on XP SP3 (2 Viewers)

I got the exactly same problem, i cant start MediaPortal at all, and i cant open the configuration.exe

hi, same issue here, also can run media portal or configuration, i also get the MediaPortal.xml not found. Launching configuration tool and exiting.

I'm on new clean xp install with sp2

this is all the log it generates .
I dont mean to hijack this thread, but it appears to be the same or very similer problem

looks like i'm not the only one with problems trying to get mediaportal to startup. anyone able to shed some light would be much appreciated

Is it possible to manually create the mediaportal.xml? Or does anyone know of a fix to the problem?

according to your logs, you started MediaPortal and received a message that mediaportal.xml does not exist. The Configuration was launched automatically. Correct?

Can you try to launch MP Configuration yourself without first starting MediaPortal?
Then return with result and new logs please.
