There is only one TV card in the system.

1) why is the Top Gear recording of 9/12/2007 22:00 flagged as a conflict ? (this is done by the ConflictsManager plugin, set to "fast")
2) there is a real conflict at 10/12/2007 at 17:00 and this is not being detected at all! Not by the ConflictsManager plugin, and also if I open "conflicts" from within MP, it shows no conflicts ?

Note that for the recordings of 10/12/2007 at 17:00 : these are on different transponders and on top of that they are both scrambed channels and the CAM limit is set to 1.

Johan.

A MP dev is completely rewriting the conflict manager but I guess it will take a while?? Maybe the dev can gives us an update on this.

BTW, since you are a fellow Belgian person, how is that "TV Vlaanderen" working with MP?

Hi THDBASED,

A MP dev is completely rewriting the conflict manager but I guess it will take a while?? Maybe the dev can gives us an update on this.

Thanks for this information, that is great news.

Well, so far so good, but I must say that I plan to do some serious experimenting/testing on this topic within a couple of weeks from now...

Right now I have my smartcard plugged into the original TV Vlaanderen CAM, and that is inserted in the FireDTV. Works very reliably, but the downside is that you can only record one channel at a time (even if you are recording multiple channels off the same transponder, which is possible with one tuner if they are FTA). That is a serious handicapt.

Thanks,
Johan.

Aah, great!! Thank god!! :D
The conflicts in stable 0.2.3.0 are also not handled properly. It gives conflicts for shows/programs that just should not give conflicts! Which MP dev is working on this problem? I hope I can help.

Just yesterday we were watching a show together, and on another channel MP just stopped a running recording after detecting some sort of conflict that wasn't there! So after we watched our show, she wanted to watch the recording of the other show, but that was cancelled for no reason... This is not the first time this has happened...

Now I need a conflictmanager for my girlfriend if I want to keep on using MP. This sounds like a joke but I'm serious. :(
She is starting to get really fad up with MP because it is so unreliable at times. This is really, really a shame because I just LOVE MP. I keep defending it and keep on pointing out the advantages, but I'm losing the battle here :( I really need help or a solution here, people.

PLEASE... REALLY, REALLY PLEASE find a solution for the bogus conflicts....
:D (in advance)

kk, I've never seen the conflict manager actually stop recordings before.
Are you sure that all the channels are mapped correctly to all the right cards? This is the only time I have ever seen this happen.

    I have a pvr500 (2xanalog) and a floppydvb (digital).
All analog frequencies of the channels that are available in analog are added to the scanned DVB-C channels. Afterwards I also map these channels to the analog cards, so these channels have 1 digital and 2 analog cards assigned to it.

I recorded 3 programs at the same time. all three available in analog and digital. Afterwards, when I looked in the tvguide, the red record ball was gone from the program that was stopped prematurely...

Maybe it was a hickup. Maybe I hit the wrong button, I hope so. But when I trace my steps back, I find this hard to imagine to be honest...We'll see what happens in the future.
