yes, that was indeed what I meant.
you could check which databases are present in mysql (need something like mysql workbench for that) or simply check when it was installed.
If it's at the time you've installed mediaportal (for the first time) then it's pretty safe to say WMC doesn't use it

Can files be easily deleted from MySql without having to delete or uninstall MySql?

Would it be easy enough to copy the files in MySql to share them with you or the forum to work out which ones to delete?

I could uninstall and reinstall MySql if it is easy enough. However, it looks a bit complicated according to the below links but I could get a computer tech to do it

I don't think it can be done that much easier. If you're not comfortable doing these kinds of things on your computer, you'd better leave it to a more eperienced person...
