1. There isn't a key for activating upper menu, you must assign it your self, (start configure.exe and right click on coolreciver select configure, a menu will pop up and you can customize key assignments) or you can "walk" to it (on the main screen press left or right similar on the rest)
2. Mp should receive key inputs even if it does not have the focus, but I suggest you start mp in full screen mode just in case.

Hi all, bringing up a semi oldish post.

Seba, i tried using your plugin, it also doesn't work for me.. (only the power button works)
(tried duku's too.. didn't work either)
The TV card is pretty new, and had to do some setting up for MP to work to get aroudn can't create graph issue.

Its a coolcommand remote model Y04G0044. anyone else gotten the plugin working with this?

is there a program that can check what codes are being received? and whether its mapped correctly?

I uploaded new version, try it. For plugin to work you must have Winfast tray app running, and "MCE remote" option must be unchecked (right click on tray icon and select settings). If it still won't work set log level in media portal to debug and press keys on remote, you will get received codes in mp log, change coolreciver_default.xml to match those codes. Hope this helps.

Hey Seba, thanks for your help.
I tried the new plugin, but still no avail. I set it to debug as well and checked for messages.
The only button recognised was the Power button and gave the only message which was: [debug] coolreciver: 0 and then your standard media portal exit messages.

I mashed all the other keys but got no messages for those.

I am using the latest PVR2 software ( 2.0.2.40 ) , is this compatible?, or is this remote significantly different its not recognising any codes except for on/off button?

(oh as a note this software when u press the power button on remote it comes up with a big squarish box where u scroll left/right to See and select the options/ the older software had all options displayed already for u to scroll to)

If the "MCE Remote" option in WFWIZ (right click on the tray app and select settings) is unchecked and it is still not working you could check that option, and then enable MCE remote in mp (then disable coolreciver). I'll have to see what is going on with PVR2.

yeh, i had em unchecked..Using pure MCE remote crashes the MP when i resize the window while in video, and it seems half the buttons resize the window.. and the other half of the buttons aren't recognised.

(while i could just not press em.. this is our main tv so my gf/other users will get annoyed very quickly)

However i have some further developments.. it could be my computer. and some interaction with drivers.

I downloaded another program Download Winfast Remote Control Support 1.058 - Winfast Remote Control Support is a free and useful program which provides custom remote control usage - Softpedia

And after installing it.. playin with it a little (seemed to work intermittedly) but at least detected the keys.
then started media portal.. and wahlah.. your plugin seemed to work.. (i forgot to turn your plugin off)

so maybe my drivers/proggie wasn't exposing codes to your plugin or something? well didn't have a chance to fully try to work out which combination works and doesn't and play with all the codes, but ill get further into it tonite.

I know that program. First time I heard of it was on this site http://tw1965.myweb.hinet.net they have links to latest software for Leadtek's TV cards. Last version I tried was 1.057, in the new change log I see that they mention PVR2 compatibility (home page for it is on http://www.bytencoder.cjb.net). Will have to see what's up with PVR2 (I'm using PVR1).
