Corrected: Recording Olympics problems (same name for all showings) (1 Viewer)

Looked at TVService.log that has tv server log info from [2014-02-14 21:28:43,420] to [2014-02-16 22:34:43,039]. Bottom line looks like you still have "Check Duplicate Recording" enabled and this is causing you to abort recordings. Changing TV Server settings often causes me frustation. Anytime I change TV Server settings, I always (except when I forget) do a manual TV Server stop/start to make sure the ^$#*&ing new settings are active. If I'm having a bad-MePo-Day(tm) I throw my hands in the air, say WTF just reboot the ^$#*&ing computer, hope it fixes my problem so I can stop yanking my hair out by the roots.

There is a lot of stuff going on I don't understand, signs of database errors, etc, but ignoring all of that I did the following. Open a cmd.exe window, cd to the unzip folder and ran the following command to grab log file lines with "Olympics" and "abort". see attached file

findstr "Olympic abort" TVService.log > olympic.txt

In this I see the following timeline. You can use the "times" to see the full log info.

Don't understand why this is always "EP01698493", for all 3 days, all times. But I think this says you still have "Check Duplicate Recording" enabled. Try rebooting? Not sure if SchedulesDirect does something strange with episode info and that somehow makes all your Olympic recordings look like they are repeats of the same episode. I use mc2xml/xmltv and don't have any episode info.

I've since restarted TV Service but haven't set any recordings ... will see

just did a short record of a current showing... seems to be fixed, as there was still yesterdays recording.. Seems TV Service does need to be re-started for the change to be taken. Should be noted in Wiki.

Odd that schedules direct shows a different program name/description for each in the Guide, but it still has the one episode number. ???
