I have had multuple hangs and crashes of MP whilst changing channels. I have attached logs from test tool, from both crashes but as test tool isn't including all logs I included the complete set of logs from my last crash. The crash brings down iexplorer.

    This time with the logs...

    Hi,
well something it's wrong here, MediaPortal tries to start your tv card which TV Server uses, so have you installed TV Plugin to correct MediaPortal folder?

Edit more: was it a clean install of RC1 or have you backported some settings from a old installation?

    Regards
    Roy

Prior to installing RC1 I uninstalled TV server (I did not delete any directories or databases myself). When I went through the advanced installation process it looked like my old sql database was found and I noticed that my settings seemed to be intact execpt for the transponders / channels which I restored with a channel scan.

forgot to add that the TV does work (i.e the card must be found), it when I somethimes change channels that things go haywire.

    Hi,
Finally had some more time to look in the logs, can you try another audio codecs for TV, like MPA or ffdshow?
Seems like channel chang from a AC3 channel to normal goes wrong, according to your logs.

    Regards
    Roy

Here are three logs where I vary the audio codec

    1) crash with ffdshow but here I forgot to set mp2 audio codec so I guess mp tried to connect to nvidia audio codec instead

    2) no crash with ffdshow mp2 set to libmad, and sound output via spdif. audio and video very much out of synch on dolby digital hd channels. also hd stuttering video.

    3) audio codec set to ac3filter in mediaportal. no crashes. sound in synch on hd and ds channels.

nvidia purevideo and coreavc video codecs used in all cases.

There are errors in all 3 logs packages.

    I hope they help.

erm..... how can you "forgett" to set the audio codec?

thats impossible, because mediaportal will always autoselect i.e. MPA, the selection will never be empty.
if there was no audio codec selected on your system when you entered MediaPortal Configuration, then there is something very wrong with your windows installation.

I selected ffdshow in MP, but in ffdshow audio codecs tab I had disabled the mp2 codec.
