Hi Everyone I'm new here.
Sorry to say I'm have the exact same problem as GlobalFusion Though I am in Perth Australia(West Coast). My machine is a stock standard MCE 2005 box(stable in mce2k5). I have completely uninstalled(MP), deleted leftover rubbish and run System Restore to time previous to any Media Portal Install and tried again to no avail...
Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hallo,
without being an expert I will point out some of my experiences, seeing that one of you in this thread has the same TV-card as I (HVR 1300).
Before updating the drivers and installing MP you have to run hcwclear.exe (Hauppauge program that deletes every Hauppauge file) and to delete the MediaPortal map to get rid of all files installed in your latest attemt. It might be nessessery to reboot Windows before you can get rid of the MediaPortal map as it sometime seems to be open files there.
Time to update drivers and than install MP. My MP has the SVN from 31/8 which works fine for me.
Now you have to ignore the Windows exception warning, just navigate past it and click your way throu the initial wizard without letting it do any settings.
Start MP Setup (configure.exe) and make your settings and tunings here.
God's speed,
Ingvar

Hallo,
sorry about that. Mixed up one of the words for folder in my language. As Ronilse pointed out I mean the MediaPortal folder.
Kind regards,
Ingvar

    Hi all.

I have just set up MP for the first time on a vanilla install of XP pro with a dual divco fusionHDTV card and it crashes at the same point. I have media player 11 installed and live in Melbourne, Australia.

    I'm in the dark :(

    So are we, grassynoel!

If you want to get useful help from this forum, then you need to provide a lot more information.

Start by filling in your System Specification (go to User CP / Edit System Specification).

Then run MediaPortal Setup until it crashes and then post the resulting MediaPortal.log file at MediaPortal Pastebin, and include the pastebin link in your update to this thread.

Then we may be able to make some infomed suggestions to get you going...:)

    Hi Grassy,

The log you have posted is from running MediaPortal, but I specifically asked you to run MediaPortal Setup (also called Configuration) and post that log. Also I asked you to post the log at pastebin, not as an entry to this thread. The log is very hard to read with all the smiley faces in it - so I have removed that posting from this thread.

I notice that you have WMP 11 installed, which is a beta product? MediaPortal is only certified against WMP 9 or 10. This maybe the cause of your exception errors.

Please remove WMP11 and install WMP10 and try MediaPortal Setup again. Please do the following:-

    Run MediaPortal Setup
Go to Television / Capture Cards
Select a card and then Edit
    Run Autotune

If you still get the exception error, then post the resulting MediaPortal.log file at MediaPortal Pastebin, and include the pastebin link in your update to this thread.
