Is there a current web interface that will work with MP 1.2.1? I've found information about web interfaces from years ago but nothing recent. Do any of the old ones still work? If so, which?

Thank you,
Mike

Hello,

Thank you for those replies. jameson_uk, is this the web server you're speaking of?

mp-web-interface - A web server and interface for the MediaPortal TV Server - Google Project Hosting

What is the small fix that is needed?

I've seen ForTheRecord mentioned a lot but I don't fully understand how it integrates with MP. Is it seamless? Can I schedule recordings through the MP interface like I do now? Why doesn't MP come with FTR built in if it has a better rules based recording mechanism?

Thank you,
Mike

Personally, 4TR is the single thing I would choose to add to any Mediaportal install if I hd "one thing".
    * I use the Client Management Console on my Laptop all the time for scheduling recordings, viewing Live TV, checking the EPG, searching etc. In fact, since its so good, I hardly use the TV interface at all.
    * The fact that it comes with a Web Interface is just even better, so I can access my TV Server and schedule programmes from anywhere on the Internet
    * THe scheduling aspect is just so much more powerful than Mediaportals.

    Hi there,

Each to their own... I find 4TR to be too "complex" and installs alot of stuff that isnt needed... MePo (with certain plugins) achieves 99% of what I need :)

4TR is not open source, so will never be "added" to MePo.

Ahh, I see. That's too bad. They should work out an 'arrangement'.

I do find MP's advanced recording options a bit lacking, and confusing. It's hard to achieve the desired results sometimes. Perhaps I should read the manual. Or perhaps the options could be more clear so one doesn't need the manual. Or maybe what I want simply can't be achieved. Anyway, that's off topic to this thread so I won't go into it here.

What is the one small fix needed for big kev's web interface?

Are there any others that still work?

I read that MP was eventually going to integrate some sort of a web interface along with gmawebservices and tv4home. But for the life of me I can't find that page again. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, any idea where that info is and when it might be available?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

Got it working again!!! (y) (y) It seems the file "DialogMenu.xml" in the theme folder does not have the onX settings in the file by default (after MP 1.36) and when you install a later version of MP. I modified the MP 1.38 file with the onX settings from MP 1.36. Also I have found the "DialogMenu.xml" from MP 1.36 will work with MP...

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck? Preferable with as much disabled as possible also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything) maybe other programs competing for resouces?
