The problems have started again :(

I switched on the HTPC this evening, tried to tune to BBC One HD had the error "No free card available" tried a couple of times no joy. Checked the TV server and there were over 20 instances of the Custom Data Grabber on my DVB-S2 card! It wouldn't stop until I stopped the TV service and disabled the plugin. Logs attached.

Ticked the DVB-S2 in the card setup?

That will solve the BBC One HD problem.

I'll take a look at the index out of array.

Looks like when there is a fault it isn't stopping the timeshift.

Try these files in the meantime, these are working fine on my computer.

TSWriter and CustomDataPlugin goes in TVServer and the plugin goes in the plugin dir.

Djblu - have you been able to replicate the season record schedules disappearing? Seems to happen after recording 1 episode the schedule is removed

Yep all ticked, BBC transponder doesn't go S2 until Monday ;)

It was giving the error because the grabber had locked the card, as soon as I'd disabled the plugin and restarted tv service tuning worked again. So "no free card" was correct. If I don't disable tue plugin before restarting TV service it starts grabbing again immediately when tv service starts.

I'll give the new files a go later, I tried a fresh EPG grab this morning and got the index error. Ran a scan of the EPG grabber transponder then pressed grab again and it all worked fine. Very strange.

Cheers for looking in to this, if you need me to test any files or give more detailed logging let me know.

I can also confirm a random bug DJBlu it only happends during an auto scan. I get up in the morning and all my cards are timeshifting the grabber channel. Also with channel updating i find (again random!!!) a channel gets replaced by one from another group then on a second scan the channel replaces another random channel somewhere else. Quick fix is to clear the channels and rescan then its ok for a few days. If i have time 2morrow i'll get my logs uploaded. Cheers

Re: Custom Data Grabber with Plugins - NoSignalDetected

Just installed MP 1.2.0 beta with Sky UK Channel and EPG grabber
(1.2.0.6) after downloading the the files attached to page 1. I
followed the 10 pages of instructions and all went well
including the grabbing and preview after the quick scan at step
    5. When I opened SetupTV all channels appeared to be in place
    with the appropriate group associations.

However when I tried to preview a channel I get the message
    "NoSignalDetected". I'm using 2 Hauppauge WinTV-Nova-HD-S2
cards. I did the installation with both None and SimpleA
settings for the cards with the same result. Using Windows 7 64
    bit O/S.

    Suggestions appreciated. Log attached.

    Tompp,
I had a problem where the channel grab had acquired all the channels, but some had their FEC set incorrectly. In my case, channels like CBS worked fine, but the BBC & ITV channels all had incorrect FEC. Changing these fixed the problem in most cases, but I have been unable to sort Channel 4HD. I too have the Nova HD S2 card (only one in my case + a Blackgold BGT3620 DVB-T2 card) running on Windows 7 32bit Ultimate. I was using a fresh MP 1.2B install & followed DJBlu's excellent how to install guide when I had this problem. After edditing the channels, all still working after 2 weeks. Wonder if anyone else using this card is having problems. I have the latest hauppauge driver, & I have never loaded wintv.
I can dig out some logs if required.

You were absolutely right! Changing the FECs to "Not defined" did the trick. I never would have thought of that! Many thanks. My next question is "Was the Hauppauge card or Sky Grabber responsible for setting the wrong values?

Sorry pal not in the pipeline at the moment,

I could add an option to the Sky Plugin to ignore Encrypted channels if you would like? This would allow you to use Skys EPG grabber and have your extra FTA channels. This would require some extra work on your behalf, you would have to go through what you want displayed in the TV Guide and hide channels you don't want. I could also add an option to not update channels that are not in the Guide.

    Would this approach work?

    Hi mate,

Yes, I think this would work as its basically what I'm doing now with the current setup. I run a scan and then delete the channels i don't want so that what I'm left with is my EPG. The reason I asked about a combined plugin is that channels such as ITV4 +1 are only available on Freesat and not in the Sky EPG anymore so if I was to use only the Sky grabber then these channels wouldn't have any EPG. Am i understanding that right??

Your forgetting mate the Freesat EPG is still a feature of Media Portal. You can scan for the channels using Sky UK grabber and then select the Freesat Info radio channel in the Radio EPG. If you can't find this channel then you can add it. The freesat epg grabber built into MediaPortal will then update the channels you have in your database.

I will be adding a freesat EPG grabber into the channel scanner in the future so you could scan using Sky GRabber and grab the EPG with the Freesat grabber.

Till then you can add the Freesat EPG channel by scanning the following.

    11426000 Horizontal 27500

It will add the Freesat Info Channel into the Radio channels. Select this in the Radio EPG grabber and you will get the data. If not you can add it manually.

    The details are

    Name: Freesat Info
    Frequency: 11426.00
    Polarisation: Horizontal
    Modulation: QPSK
    SymbolRate: 27500
    Inversion: 2/3
    NID:59
    TID:2315
    SID: 10530

Be sure to add it as a DVB-S Radio Channel and it will grab your data.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi guys,

Decided to try 1.2.0b again today and the freesat info channel is not found. If I scan the details given I get a "No Signal " error and I cannot manually add the channel as there appears to be info missing. When I add it in, it asks me for a valid lnb switch which i assume is 11700000 and a valid pmt id.

Any ideas otherwise i will have to go back to 1.2.0a which works.

    Thanks in advance :D

Edit: It seems i have now lost the signal to every channel on my compro s350 dvb-s cards where as a rollback to 1.2.0a works fine.

I now have MP 1.2.0 beta with Sky Grabber mostly working and am
very pleased with the results. Thanks DJBlu for taking the time
to create such an impressive plugin.

There remains one little problem with the EPG information given
for some channels. For example, More4 appears in SetupTV under
TV Channels in two places. First it appears in the group
Entertainment. That channel is listed in the Guide with "No data
available". Second, it appears later not associated with any
group. The guide gives a full EPG listing for it.

I have a hunch the the second More4 not associated with a group
may have been generated when the "Quick Scan" was done in Step 5
of the instructions. However the Grabber seems to have chosen it
rather than the one it generated itself in Entertainment to
attach the full EPG information. Is there a way to avoid this?
