Doing clean install on MSSQL this time as was on MySQL before.

Ok working again. Going to reinstall everything v-e-r-y carefully...

All seems ok so far. I think I must have done dumb thing somewhere. Thanks for your help DJB. I'll keep this setup to the bare bones over Xmas as it has recording duties to perform and I'll be away for a day or two.

Sorry mate after reboot it's crashing again. I was sooo careful this time. All files came straight off the site and I'd meticulously cleaned the last installation. The only plugin I have is online videos. I also have the uk tv logos pack installed. I did reimport my channels and groups from the default backup engine but not the guide. Not too worried as I now have a weeks epg data saved. Can post logs if required.

Hey guys,

been using the freesat plugin for about 12months with no problems. recently i noticed i wasnt getting a epg or updated channel lists. When i tried to do a manual grab of the freesat data using the plugins "grab now" button on control panels, i get a error (ive attached a screen shot and logs)

Does anyone know whats going on, this server hasnt been touched for a long time.

Try deleting the freesat grabber channel and scanning again.

Hi, for me at least it is working ok but I do have a query regarding the schedule which isn't explained in the manual..

What is this doing exactly? Is it just the channel lists etc and not the EPG? I ask because I have this enabled, and set to 3 hours.. but its not respecting powerscheduler++ or the current system state. Its waking my PC all the time. Is there no way to make it respect the sleep state and update when the computer is next on if it missed its previous update?

Or.. what will be the effects of disabling the schedule to prevent it waking up the machine?

Set it to update at a certain time. Then get powerscheduler++ to wake up 1 minute before the update time.

Yes however it doesn't tell powerscheduler it is, as long as your standby timeout isn't less than 2 minutes then you will be fine.

The reason I ask, is I would prefer to never wake the machine for anything other than physically being at it to watch something or if it has to record something (waking it every 3 hours when the timeout is 45 minutes is practically begging the question why even use sleep). So if the EPG was grabbing when idle then I could just disable any schedule and the planet would stay greener

What happens if for instance I set a schedule time, and both tuners are in use.. does it go into the repeat every 5 minutes mode until a tuner becomes available? I can see the best compromise being a schedule when its most likely the machine will be in use (in the evening for example).

Also I don't understand why I need to tell powerscheduler to wake up 1 minute before, the grabber plugin seems fine at waking up the system on its own? Unless I am missing the obvious.
