Right so after everything, it appears that no matter what I do I get continuity errors on normal installs, modded installs and even Argus Recorder. I've even done a new install of the server to Server Essentials as this worked fine in the past... still getting it. I run a 4xoutput multiswitch of a single Quad Sky NZ LNB in to 2 TBS 6981 devices. I know that the LNB can cause these issues if its failing, but could the switch contribute to the issues? It can scan fine, play a channel ok but as soon as I go multi-channel record if falls apart and the error start appearing.

My next move is to try windows 7 on the server hardware and see what happens but I'm not confident this will fix things!

Any other suggestions?

Edit: So I was wrong, Argus Recorder recorded 4 channels at once in HD without issue... timed to test 4 x record MP and see if its MP + windows server or just these mods again!

Edit2: So MP native with Sky does not like any of the windows Server 2012 series from what I can tell. Same configs, argus recorder is great no problems; MP 1.4 first channel is fine and after that it is quite bad and gets continuity errors.

Time to drop to Windows 7 on the server in place of a server edition and see what happens then!

Hi, I have a TBS 6984 on Windows 7 and was also having major issues watching or recoding more than one channel at a time, this is how I fixed mine.
I enabled 'Allow this card to be preloaded' in the TV Server\Edit Card Properties for each card / channel, now I can successfully watch or record multiple channels.
Not sure if its the same issue your having though, but worth a shot.

I also use the allow card to be preloaded setting with my TBS card and always have. Gotta be worth a try!

So its official I don't know what is happening with Windows Server 2012 (any edition) as I've now got Windows 7 on the server and bar a few start up errors which probably would be solved with pre-loading, 1 HD timeshift & 3 HD record works. No continuous errors, PMT mismatch issues, anything. Just solid MediaPortal as it was before I migrated to WS2012E/Standard.

Has anyone else run across this issue? Now to virtualise the entire system with ESXI and setup both Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard with essentials Role and also Windows 7 for doing the TV stuff. I get my integrated backup system and file storage through Windows Server and potentially working TV from Windows 7. Also saves me lugging my monitor around with me from main pc to server when I need to sort out VM stuff.

@DJBlu @mm1352000 I'd be interested in your thoughts on this issue with Windows Server. Appreciate that MD*** isn't to be discussed but in the context of Server O/S's, are there issues that I'm not aware of?

Hmm that's interesting. I've been getting fairly regular continuity errors in TsWriter recently on Windows Server 2012, even though the signal seems fine and I'm timeshifting to an SSD. Switching to an HDD didn't help. Might try that preloading thing. I also notice there are new drivers for my tuner card out again. Last time they broke the satellite tuners completely, hopefully they won't this time...

Also, yay for 1.5 finally being out. Should mean we get a CDG build soon and I can use MediaPortal on my Windows 8.1 machines again.
