    Hi all,

    The BBC Red button channels appear to be taking the SID for the channel name.......just wondered if DJBlu could modify his code to rename them at source. Last I tried they get renamed back next grab if you manually modify them....unless an option or two is unchecked.

    I.E.:-

    Channel = BBCi 1
    Name = 6711
    SID = 6711

    Not that I watch them much, just the F1 forum on a Sunday after the F1 GP....always fun.

    Ian.

    I can add an option to ignore the name if it equals the SID.

    MHEG5 is in the pipeline so the redbutton channels should be irrelavent in the future. ;)

    You got anywhere with this? Last time I had a look all that damn Java was a real pain. it seems easy enough to download the MHEG5 program but rendering it was a complete arse. Are you planning on full red button stuff or just an attempt to link channels like BBCi stuff?

    Full blown Red Button.

    There is code out there that will render it but its 90% complete. The other issue is to render it into MediaPortal. I am using the Teletext code to see how this is done.

    I'm a long long way off anything at the moment. Before I can commit 100% of my time to it, the freesat scanner and Usals is going to be added.

    This is going to take months not days, so I wouldn't expect something in the near future.

    I will probably create this as a seperate entity to the Custom Data Grabber and will create a seperate branch in the SVN for it.

    Hi,
    A couple of things...

    I've been digging around trying to understand what was going on the other week was I was able to create a series link but the link did not record anything. It seems that the record menu on my system (using the default wide skin), is offering series link when no series link data is actually available. Is this expected? Perhaps I need to update/re-install things? I'm using 1.2.1 updated with one of the svn builds from icam2 at the moment....

    :oops: Ignore me, I was thinking of Dave which, it turns out, is not available on Freesat (but is on Freeview).

    If you have a mixed freeview/freesat setup (as I do), then you can still use the sky epg for channels like Dave, by combining the encrypted version from sky with the freeview channel and then marking the association for the sat card to be used for epg only. This works well for channels that have the same content on both sky and freeview, but is not so good for those that only have limited time/content on freeview...

    Hope the above makes sense, let me know if you need more details...

    If anyone has a really good recommended setup for those of us that have a mixture of freeview and freesat I'd love to hear it. I wonder if the freesat grabber will help with this? The main problem I have is that it is not possible to use the freeview epg grabber to just pick up the freeview only channels due to interactions between the sky grabber and the freeview grabber (unless this has changed recently)...

    Hi

    I have just done a fresh install of 1.2.1 and your 28264 SVN, I have installed the data grabber and lastest sky plugin but I am getting the 'ErrorOccured - UnknowError' when hitting 'grab now'. I can upload logs if you require!

    Cheers

    EDIT: forget me for now because I reset the DB and it seems to be working!

    Man freesat is a pain in the ass. DJ thinks he has it sorted then it kicks me in the backside however DJ bites back and finds how it works. Expect a release tonight, damn
    14 bit numbers.
