Custom Data Grabber including Sky UK Channel/EPG Grabber (2 Viewers)

Well that is very strange. Because on my system when I tried to do this (last week when the series first appeared in the epg), it certainly had the series link option in the menu. I'm very sure of this as I tried to set the link several times deleting the entry between each try. In fact I'm pretty sure I still have the link set in my scheduled recordings, so if it helps I can probably dig out any associated data, so long as you tell me what you need... I wonder if the epg data was just wrong back when I set the original recording?.

Currently using 7mc so will get mediaportal up to date.

Series link entries weren't recording which is why I thought the scheduled view was a bug (why I'm temp using 7mc as recording series a must).

Will report once I'm back up and running

I'm really struggling for some reason of of a sudden..

A new install of 1.2.1 with the DJBlu SVN's from the first page over the top..

Nothing else installed - had to do the drop the database thing twice as per my other post because the fields were not added..

TV Service keeps crashing - if I reboot then it will work for a while, but if we then watch a recording, you can't go back to live tv without a reboot first.

Just done another fresh install, fired up TV and another crash.. Anyone got any ideas? Logs are attached..

Hmm.. just looked again at other logs and it appears to be trying to connect to MYSQL, but I use MSSQL?

Database issue seems to have resolved itself with a reboot.. Will monitor the situation!

Did you read my reply to you yesterday psykix?? Its more than likely the firewall you are using blocking you access to the mysql-mssql. I had to set a rule in mine to allow local traffic to mysql.

Sorry, somehow I missed that reply!

Anyway, I don't use a firewall - it's all completely disabled (I just use the one on my Draytek which doesn't affect any internal traffic)

It seems to be working now, couple of little errors visible in the logs, but I'll see how it goes

I've posted a request in the Freeview HD thread, asking if DJBlu's Freeview HD EPG mod could be included as part of the 1.3 Alpha base code, but the thought occurrs to me that maybe the Custom Grabber could be used to perform the same function(?)

However I'm confused about how different EPG grabbers would interact, and whether they would supplement each other, or try to overwrite each other's EPG.

What I'd really like is a grabber which provides the SKY EPG, a grabber that provides Freesat EPG (with series link) and a grabber that provides Freeview (inc HD) - without overwriting each other.

Of course some channels appear on more than one EPG, and picture quality varies between source. so perhaps I'd want to apply a weighting to any duplicates, indicating which should be selected (I guess this goes beyond the scope of the EPG ?)

If, for example, I'm recording BBC1 HD via a satellite feed, and I want to watch Channel 4HD, I would expect the channel selection to switch to the DVB-T2 source on the basis that this is the least favourable option not already in use. If, however. I was recording SC4 HD (via Freeview HD) and wanted to watch BBC1 HD, I would expect the EPG to switch tto the DVB-S2 source - even though BBC1 HD is on et the same mux as S4C, Freesat provides a better bit rate so I would have given that a better weighting. (In a super-mzing ideal world, weighting would bederived and automatic)

Is this all a pipe-dream?
