    Hi Psykix,

Thank you for the reply. At the risk of sounding a tad more stupid, which database do I need to get rid of? Is it just a case of deleting it?

Which config will I have to do again? The whole tuning and channel setting up??

Thank you for the response, the GF is chewing my knackers off as this is the main server for the living room, bedroom and kitchen - no TV at all.

Yep, the main database - you need to delete it.. It gives an unknown error because the fileds it requires to write the EPG info etc don't exist.

You'll need to set all your TV config up again as it is stored in the database.

You may want to wait for confirmation from someone else that it is definitely the issue before you delete, but have a read back through the thread and you will see :)

Yes this is correct... For the time being after an upgrade you need to drop the mptvdb scheme in mysql then redo all your settings.

    Stop the TV Service.
    Close Setup TV.
    Open MySql Command Line Client
enter your password should be "MediaPortal"
    then type
    drop database mptvdb; [return]
    Now open SetupTV.

PS. DJBlu, could you add the above to post #1.

OK so the error I'm currently seeing in the log is this when I try and Grab an EPG or channels with the plugin:

    2011-05-31 21:52:04.727800 [TVService(6)]: TvService OnStart failed : System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.
    at System.Threading.Thread.SleepInternal(Int32 millisecondsTimeout)
    at TvService.TvServiceThread.OnStart()
2011-05-31 21:52:04.774600 [scheduler thread(10)]: card: unable to connect to slave controller at:10.0.1.1
    [/CODE]

10.0.1.1 is my MS LOOPBACK network adapter that I use for my single seat TV service, there's no firewall on this adapter and TV service is working just fine, live TV and all. Any suggestions?

Same issue here, but no solution found on the forum.

Firstly, thanks DJBlu for your plugin. Even though it causes me pain sometimes I'd rather have than not.

I had a tiny problem that I managed to resolve and I post this in case anyone else is having a similar problem.

The problem was that after I'd reinstalled MP and applied the patches I couldn't get the SD channels to work. The HD channels all worked and scanned fine, the epg populated but I got a No Signal error when I try to watch the SD channel.

The resolution was as follows: Drop the database (the command line version of this command from the post above didn't work, I had to download this MySQL :: Download MySQL Workbench to do it).

Do a quick scan, cancel it. Go to the plugin and do a scan. Go to the tvservers option in the tv server. Select the satellite card and run a full scan.

Recombine the cards and reorder the channels.

    This seems to work.

    Hope this helps someone.

Just a quick post to thank psykix, icam2 and IanJ. Dropped the database (details were several pages back) and rescanned yesterday, recombined all the channels and set up my own "Favourites" group. EPG fully populated and working fine.. or was until about 6.30pm this evening when the main PC in the lounge froze up (GF was watching client in bedroom). Closed Mp and retstarted everything and no TV at all. I had to drop database again and rescan all six cards.

Just wondering if I export everything to an .xml when all is setup and working again, and then importing this file willl save time if I have to drop the DB again at some point in the future.

BTW I did get a lot of duplicate channels shown when the EPG scan completed. Is this normal?

I've never ever had to re-scan post crash or anything like that, so from my point of view yes that is wierd.
When you say you restarted, did you re-boot, or did you simply restart MP. Did you restart the TV service?
Also, when you say you got no Tv........what error were you getting?

    Hi Ian,

I closed down MP and then restarted the HTPC.

Went into TV section and got the error box in the MePo GUI whenever I tried to select a channel from TV Guide. This popped up at bottom right of TV Section screen. I even went into the TV Server config and tried previewing various DVB-T or DVB-S channels and got nothing at all - IIRC correctly an error box popped up when I tried to preview saying no PMT or PID (Can't quite remember now as the GF was giving me grief again  )
