Custom Data Grabber including Sky UK Channel/EPG Grabber (5 Viewers)

Hi,
I think I've just seen the same problem. I have a very large log file and no running TVServer! Looking at the log it seems to be performing the epg grab over and over again. I've restarted the server and it seems to be doing exactly the same thing. I have a much shorter log file showing the restart so I'll upload that shortly...

I think I know whats causing the re-try of grab.

I'll take a look at it later and I'll upload a new file.

P.S. Do you have it set to grab every x hours or at a set time on different days?

Hi DJBlu,
I had it set to grab every x (3?) hours, whatever the default settings are (this is a totally new install). After the crash I switched it to grab every day instead and that seemed to work fine last night with no repeat grabs... I'll keep an eye on what happens over the next few days...

A few other comments...

I noticed is that some (possibly all) of the settings do not always seem to take effect unless you restart things (not 100% sure if you need to exit the control app, or just restart the service). Is this what you would expect?

When I installed this build (from clean), I also had the problem with the database not having the correct entries, could this be caused by running the standard install before adding the svn files and creating the database without the extra fields. I think your install guide tells you to do this... Dropping the database fixed this...

Finally when I first tries to do a grab the grab failed. I had to play around with the tuning settings to get the grab to work. One thing I noticed was that changing the settings in the skyepg tab did not seem to make any difference, but tweaking the radio entry that I assume is created by the grabber did.

Sorry I did not keep very good track of the above issues as I was under rather a bit of pressure to get our main TV system up and working again!

I think it is the lastupdate variable not being updated that is causing the issue.

I just had a similar problem last night when I installed completely afresh with MP1.2.1 and with a TBS6981 card rather than my usual Hauppauge card. After installing by-the-book I couldn't grab any channels (got error) and so I tried the MySQL trick to clear the db but still couldn't grab and so I ended up playing around, disabling, quick MP scan, delete channels etc 2 or 3 times before bingo grab now worked. I don't know what did it in the end.

Fixed this problem.

Everyone please download v.1.2.0.26 as there is potential for 1.2.0.25 to crash the TVServer.

Thanks for this DJblu i had been getting a few strange things happening but never put it down to this plugin. However All's seams fine after changing to v26 cheers

Did a completely clean install today - clean Win7 x64 and clean MePo.

Followed instructions to the letter re installing the data grabber & svn packages. After install I cannot get any TV at all, I just get an error box popping up in bottom right of screen saying 'error', and when I try to do a "grab now" from within the plugin I eventually end up with "unkown error" message, this is after it has said 'loading huffman tables', 'grabbing for 60 seconds' etc

I attach logs to see if I have just been very stupid - it isn't unusual, as the GF often tells me.

There is a problem with the install files - after installing you need to drop your database because it doesn't have the added fields required.

Drop the databse, and then go back into TV Setup and it will recreate it, but with the correct fields inserted.

You will have to do the config again however!
