Success! Sort of...

I installed WinXP SP3, .net3.5, PDVD8 and MP 1.0 RC4 (and dependencies like WMP11), and could play unencrypted .m2ts in PDVD and WMP perfectly.

Added .m2ts to extension types and could launch from MP! Was getting a message though prior to running, and pressing ok closes it and the movie seems to play fine with audio and video in sync (with no need to skip the first frame). The window is labelled "Mkx" and the error is: "A decoder for the new track could not be found".

The 'track type' section of the box is empty though. I see other posts about a similar error (other file types, or with the 'track type' suggesting subtitles), but have not yet found anyone who's solved the issue (without converting the file to another format).

Is this the same error you were getting in your original post?

I uninstalled Haali and no more error - but no ability to play .m2ts... I find this really strange, as the player settings in MP are all set to use PDVD codecs (but not as an external player) so surely the existence of Haali is totally irrelevant?

I was having this MKx error also; the 30gb file played fine though after clicking OK to the error. It's a .ts file, but it only plays in mediaportal when I renamed it to mkv or wmv. Maybe it is because the movie contains also a HD sound track?

This where I got up to with mine. Can't figure out why I need Haali. I also bought the HD264 codec pack and it doesn't work either. It will show freeze frames of the movie but will not play video.

The decoder message is as a result of the subtitles. I stripped mine out. Even if you get the subtitles working according to other threads you will not get HA.

There are a lot of people that use the Cyberlink codec but have not received any responses about their setup and how it works.

I would really prefer to not strip the subtitles as some movies use them rather than (superimposed/overlayed?) in the film (so in my case, for some non-English language parts).

Why do you lose HA? Is the fix to use a different codec/player?

I saw another post about using Moving Pictures and TMT to play bluray iso's, so maybe that's the way I need to start looking...

Not sure why you lose HA I think it may have to do with VobSub but I need to do more research on that. From what I read you have to add vobsub to the post processing filters and this is what breaks HA.

Will do some reading and play around a bit more with it and see how I go.

Let me know how you get on I would really appreciate it.
