Database problem during setup (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I installed TVServer several month ago and the setup worked fine on my HTPC. Because of some problems I decided to stay with TV Engine V0.2.

Today I wanted to give it a new try and installed the latest SVN build. After starting SetupTV.exe and waiting for 30 seconds I get a message box:

The database cannot be upgraded and will therefore be (re)created. Do you want to proceed?

After clicking "Yes" and another 60 seconds I get the following message:

Unable to create database: Error during connection to the server.

SQL Server is running fine and no old database is existing. I expected a little dialog window to enter the server name and the password but this does not appear. So the TV Engine seems to connect with an incomplete connection string.

I allready tried to create a empty database and adjusted the connection string in the gentle config file but it did no help.

Any hints?

I found another Gentle.config in the "Document and Settings" directory. After adjusting the connection string inside of this file it worked.

This is what I had to do on VISTA when I changed TV Server to latest svn(07.03.2007 - rev. 15070) :

1.
First i had to uninstall older svn TV Server and it's client and delete the old SQL database, then update the MediaPortal to latest SVN.
2.
Then reinstall TV server (AS ADMINISTRATOR) and i'ts client with latest SVN(matching MP SVN).
3. For some reason this version of SetupTV.exe does not open the Server Database Settings Dialog, so I had to edit "C:\ProgramData\MediaPortal TV Server\Gentle.config"
The line I changed was the line "DefaultProvider" at the end of the line I had to set the variable "Data Source=YOURCOMPUTERNAME\SQLEXPRESS;", you might need administrator rights to edit this file.

4. Started the SetupTV.exe and it recreated the database just fine.

Well this was how I did it.

Note:
You might have to change the folder settings to show hidden files and folders to browse "C:\ProgramData\".
The ProgramData folder is only on Vista, I'm not sure what folder that is used on XP, probaly "Document and Settings" as another post here.

I had the same issue, i edit the cofig file but now i don't get an access error but a failing to locate the SQL server.

Any other ideas???
