Default View & Pin (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

I've been looking forward to two features for a while not, the password PIN, and the custom views. I recently downloaded the new version and set up a few views for tv series - Kids (Dora, Kai Lan, etc.), Adults (Dexter, South Park, etc.), and Educational (The Universe, Nova, etc.). I have a PIN on just the Adults view.

Now, what I would like to happen is for TV Series to open up to the View List every time I open TV Series and to prompt for a PIN if I select the Adults View.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to set the View List to be the default view, and worse, it does not prompt me for the pin if I enter the Adults view via the View List - only if I select it from the sidebar.

Another note is that locked views do not lock if you go back to the main menu. You must navigate under menus and sub-menus to find a "lock views" option, or reboot mediaportal. It would be much more useful to have the PIN'd views lock automatically if you return to the main menu (or an option for this behavior in configuration).

So three questions:

1) Is it possible to set a default view that will always be the first displayed when you open TV Series from the Main Menu?

2) Is it possible to make the plugin prompt for a PIN if the PIN'd view is selected from the built-in View List view?

3) Is there a way to set the plugin so that it will automatically lock PIN'd views (for instance, on return to Main Menu)?

If these are not possible, I'll bring them up as requests in the other forum. As things stand (as far as I can tell) PIN is not a usable as it could be, and the View List is basically incompatible with PIN.

Thank you for an amazing, wonderful plugin.

It would be something easy to add, you can raise an enhancement request. Currently it remembers the last view used and shows that. If that view is protected, it will show you the pin code dialog.

    2) Is it possible to make the plugin prompt for a PIN if the PIN'd view is selected from the built-in View List view?
We could put something like that in (its something that was overlooked). For now you will just have to protect "Tagged Views" as well.

    3) Is there a way to set the plugin so that it will automatically lock PIN'd views (for instance, on return to Main Menu)?
Not possible yet, but something probably easy to add. Currently it will only lock the view if you exit MediaPortal or resume from standby, otherwise you need to manually lock it.

If these are not possible, I'll bring them up as requests in the other forum. As things stand (as far as I can tell) PIN is not a usable as it could be, and the View List is basically incompatible with PIN.
Feel free to raise these enhancements.

Hi, any update or workaround on this?

Hi, thanks for great plugin :)

Does anyone know if it is possible ( or in the pipeline ) to re-lock down your pin enabled views without exiting ( or standby )

Don't really want the kids watching 2 1/2 men yet, lol

    Cheers, and thanks again

From the Actions menu choose 'Lock Views'
