Hi everyone,

After wakeup from standby, there is a long delay (sometimes up to two minutes) until mediaportal starts working again (e.g. react to remote control, show the current time etc.). Disabling plugins and configuring the (single seat) setup to use a loopback device didn't help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!
nino

PS: extract from the logs (after a relatively short delay) starting right after wakeup at 1:17:34. Mediaportal became responsive around 1:18:15

Hi Michael,

I uploaded logfiles.

This is what I did:
* stopped tvservice and mediaportal
* deleted all logfiles
* started tvservice
* started mediaportal
* started live tv as soon as mediaportal was responsive
* stopped live tv and waited until pc had gone to suspend mode
* woke pc up by pressing button on remote control
* as soon as mediaportal was responsive navigated to tv guide and started a program

It took almost two minutes for mediaportal to startup initially. It took more than a minute until mediaportal was responsive after waking up from suspend mode. I'd really appreciate if the delay after resume could be reduced.

With mediaportal 1.4 both the inital startup time and the resume delay were much shorter. But even then it used to take 20-30 seconds until mediaportal was responsive again after resuming from suspend mode.

Thanks for any help!

Thank you for the logs. I can confirm your observation that the start and the restart of MP takes much too long time (in both cases there is at least one minute without any logged activity of the MP client). But there is also no hint what is wrong with your system. So as a first step of debugging I would recommend you to disable all community plugins (you can start MP in debug mode, which does this implicitly) and see if the problem still exists. BTW: You should also activate DEBUG log mode in the tv server...

Hi Michael,

Here are logfiles with activated tvserver debug level and mediaportal running in debug mode. Initial startup still takes quite a long time (much faster with mediaportal 1.4). Resuming from standby now takes only about 15 seconds. I previously tried disabling plugins but couldn't find a particular one which could be solely responsible for the long delay.

Thanks,
nino

    Have you checked the option Reinitialize TV controller on wakeup (also reinitializes tuner) ?
    If so, try to disable it.

    Your community plugins are still activated and I suspect one of them to be the cause of your problems. You should definitively disable all of them and test again. And there are some strange warnings that some Titan skin files are missing. I do not think it has something to do with your problems, but it is an indication that there might be something wrong with your installation. Maybe you should reinstall MP to get this fixed.

    What should this help for? @nino's system is obviously hanging in the client, not the server.

    Once I saw a sign on a shop door. It said: "No shoes, no shirt, no service!". For MP problems this is: "No logs, no system specs, no help!";)
    Please send logs, if you have a problem - otherwise nobody can help you (and nobody knows what to fix in MP 1.5.1)!
